Additional info & updates

04/17/10 When I first started the application process, I was convinced I wouldn't be accepted to any law school. So far, I have three acceptances and while I'm excited that I will definitely be attending a law school in the fall, I'm now torn on where to go. I really want to stay in California, specifically the bay area, but Golden Gate is much costlier than UALR. I went to visit UALR, and it was actally quite nice, but it definitely is a different pace of life.

I'm still holding onto hope that I might be accepted to University of San Francisco. I applied there over 2 and half months ago and I still haven't heard anything. Status checker just says application complete. Is anyone else finding that they take forever to render a decision?

04/22/10 I went ahead and withdrew from Whittier today so that another deserving student may have my seat.

I'm still in review at USF, so I sent out a letter to them yesterday reiterating my interest. I hope that will make it to the admissions committee. If they take me, I will absolutely attend.

4/27/10 I'm still waiting to hear from USF, Chapman, and Chicago-Kent. It has been a full 8 weeks since my file went to complete at USF, and they indicated that decisions are rendered 6-8 weeks after completion.

I am starting to think that I'm lucky to even have gotten in to a law school considering how late I applied. Oh well, no use crying over spilled milk.

I went to visit GGU last week and really liked it there. I'm still hoping for USF, but GGU wouldn't be such a terrible alternate. I checked out their bar pass stats and job placement rate, and they are acceptable. I am strongly leaning towards staying in California versus going to Arkansas because I want to practice in CA.

Have you thought of any schools in So Cal? Besides Whittier, San Diego has three law schools. I believe Thomas Jefferson accepts thru August. Golden Gate and TJSL have similar rankings.

Thanks for the suggestion

I'm a norcal girl, so most likely I will stay in the bay area unless miraculously a T1 takes me. Since I've already been accepted to Golden Gate, and I love SF, I am not considering applying to comparable schools elsewhere.

Thanks

Hey, thanks for the advice ... maybe I'll see you at GGU if they accept me off the wait list ... I looked at the Bar passage rates for Whittier and decided I'd rather take my chances elsewhere =)
