Additional info & updates

Took the LSAT for the first time this December, and I am currently hoping that applying this late in the application cycle won't hurt me too bad.

01-20-10 Got an acceptance via snail mail to Cooley, the envelope had a sticker on the outside saying "tuition invoice enclosed," which I think ruins the surprise. I got the 100% tuition scholarship, which wasn't a surprise because it said I would on the website. Its good to know that I will definitely be going somewhere for law school!

01-26-10 Accepted to Akron via phone and status checker

01-29-10 Decision deferred until March at Hofstra via status checker

02-02-10 Decision mailed at Santa Clara on the status checker. Tuition deposit information is listed, so I hope that means I got in!

02-06-10 Received a snail mail admissions letter from Santa Clara today, and was awarded the $11,000 Emery Law Scholarship.

02-09-10 Accepted to Hofstra by email! I wasn't expecting to hear back so soon because I was deferred.

02-12-10 Email from Akron with a scholarship for $29,000 a year, with full renewal based on getting top 10%. I really like what I've read about Akron, but that seems high compared to other schools requirements.

02-16-10 Accepted to St. John's with a full scholarship, and to Drake with $12,000 a year (both by mail). I wasn't expecting to get two responses in one day, it was a nice surprise!

02-22-10 Received scholarship offer from Hofstra in the mail, $15,000 a year.

03-09-10 Waitlisted at Temple via the status checker.

03-12-10 Got a rejection letter from Tulane. My first ding! Had to happen sometime I guess.

04-10-10 Its been about a month without any new developments so I figured I should update anyways. Its close to seat deposits being due at all the schools I haven't heard back from, so I'm anticipating receiving the last of my acceptances/denials within the next few weeks.

4-16-10 Waitlisted at San Diego

Why are you applying to such low ranked schools? You should be T1 or bust. You've got a chance at Northwestern if you have work experience, or a chance at WUSTL, UIUC, Minn, IUB, Iowa with scholarships.

I'm not a flame...

If you're not a flame and you really scored a 175, then seriously, you can do a lot better than the schools you've applied to even with your GPA. Apply to the schools LazySplitter said. Email them for fee waivers if they haven't sent them already. Don't sell yourself short.

As someone who had amazingly similar numbers up until Thursday, I'm pulling for you. Good luck in this cycle.

I'm going to email to see if i can get that requirement lowered. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's too steep. I'll keep you posted

Yeah i mentioned that in my letter but that 10% is just to stringent i sent it off this evening so we'll see the response soon.

They said they do not change scholarship requirements. Seems like a trap to me i probably with withdraw this week or next.

Akron's scholly

At least Akron has the 2/3 and 1/3 level, most just have a 1/2 level or nothing that said, it is absurdly high standards
