HI JORDAN!

**Monetary amounts are over a 3-year period**

2/11/07 - Phone call from Anne Richard at GWU congratulating me...that was a faster turnaround than I expected. First one down!!!

2/15/07 - Phone call from Maggie somethingerother at SMU congratulating me.

2/28/07 - Email from Cornell! Um, that was quick..

3/1/07 - Status changed to decision for UVA...I'm expecting the worst :-(

3/2/07 - In at Emory via a large envelope

3/3/07 - Invite to an Admitted Students Reception from USC. Does that mean I'm in? It would be real nice to know

3/5/07 - Confirmed on the phone that I'm in at USC, received the package later the same day

3/5/07 - In at BU via phone call, received the package when the mail came that day

3/5/07 - Got the letter from UVA, waitlisted. Oh well, at least they didn't reject me outright

3/12/07 - In at W&M via priority mail envelope, with a $10,000 scholarship renewable as long as I keep a "C" average

3/12/07 - Dean's scholarship letter from SMU in the amount of $18,000 automatically renewed each year

3/16/07 - In at BC via a large, white envelope

3/20/07 - Georgetown status-checker went to decision, guess I'll find out on Monday

3/21/07 - $60,000 scholarship over 3 years at Emory

3/23/07 - Voicemail from George Mason

3/26/07 - Picked up all the spring break mail, included was:
* Preferred Waitlist from Georgetown....@%%$#
* $14,600 per year from Cornell
* $20,000 per year from BU
* $8,000 from GW?
* A @#%#@load of useless mail from W&M

3/26/07 - In the regular mail, $20,000 per year at USC

3/28/07 - Waitlisted at Michigan via email. Make it stop. Please.

4/2/07 - DING. No University of Chicago for me : I can't say it's unexpected though.

4/7/07 - In at UT-Austin via snail mail
**also updated to reflect withdrawals that I have made over the past month or so**

4/11/07 - Received my pitiful aid package from Texas online

4/13/07 - Apparently that online Texas aid check only gave me the need-based numbers. Additional $21,000 merit scholarship in the mail.

4/18/07 - Today is the day of ridiculous waitlists:
*Priority Waitlisted at Illinois via email - I can only assume that this is the nefarious yield protection monster
*Waitlisted via snail-mail at UCLA

4/18/07 - Held at Northwestern

4/27/07 - This one's for you Jordan: I got waitlisted at Penn.

5/17/07 - Summer Waitlist at Northwestern. I'm gonna be holding on for this one.

^^^First round of decisions is finally complete, now I enter waitlist purgatory^^^

Nice work on GW. You're a shoe in at most of the schools, with a very good chance at the rest. What was your conversation with Dean Richard like?

Good old North Shore. I am an NU alum, and partly miss Evanston, even though it is only a short 'L' ride away. I'm guessing you are trying to stay in Chicago?

Do you still love me?

I'm sorry for my tardiness!! But let's drink to DC this weekend :)

Rock on!

Sorry I keep littering your wall, but ... Cornell!! Rock on, that's awesome. Big congratulations, especially because of the super fast turn around time!!

Hey great job on the quick turnarounds homie. I hear you on UVA though, sux that we are both non-priority. OH well Gluck with the rest of your apps. Heres hoping we both have some solid luck with UChicago :}

thanks for the congrats. I am not ruling out GW just yet -- they are going to consider me with the FT waitlist to switch prior to the fall, and I will be visiting both schools. Emory has made themselves very competitive though, that is for sure. I am STILL crossing my fingers for Penn though (not gonna happen, but I can hope).

Illinois?

I cannot believe they waitlisted you, not that it matters. Which way are you leaning at this point? This wait is killing me. NU is being a punk. They should just let you in.

Hrm

Yeah, it looks more and more like GW is the place for me. Based on everything I have seen, I will be shocked if I get into NU. The more I think about it to, I think I will just really love being at GW. We'll see. If it weren't for those damned waitlists, I could be done with sweating this... Do you have a sense if this hold is a priority waitlist? It seems weird that they would hold you at this point. It made sense back in January, but now I'm confused. Either way, Cornell is a great place to be, let alone with a lot of money.

congrats on the results so far... any frontrunners?

thanks

Yeah, it's kind of a bummer I won't be in Ithaca this fall. Cornell's been great, but Washington just works better for me and my wife. Good luck this fall!
