Additional info & updates

1/30: lots of silence since the usd acceptance... i'm a little suspicious of the cornell status checker since it hasn't changed from "applied" since 1/5.

2/3: call from dean schwartz at ucla! well, first a voicemail.

2/11: decision finalized at usc. still not complete at cornell (unsurprising), penn and virginia submitted with late merit fee waivers so i suppose those won't go complete for a while either.

2/16: under review at harvard...

2/18: berkeley faculty review has answered with... rejection! no hard feelings. i want to leave the bay and probably couldn't stand my peers rooting against my undergrad ;)

2/18, continued: davis? will start withdrawing a couple of these acceptances soon...

2/19: under review at georgetown...

3/2: and still not a peep from cornell.

3/3: rejection letter from stanford - as much as i love it here, it's ok to move on. :)

3/4: georgetown status check is still under review, but the date changed from 2/19 to 3/4... cornell FINALLY says complete, but the status check still says "as of 1/5, your status is:" which i think is wrong, so i've listed 3/4 as the complete date above.

3/5: columbia hold letter

3/8: decision rendered at georgetown! mail better come in before i leave for spring break... EDIT: tried the "forgot my password" link on the asw and was able to log in. woo!

3/10-11: after a long debacle with virginia admissions (they never sent me any correspondence about whether my app was received/complete or a status checker log-in), turns out they just have "issues" with my school's .edu e-mails. well, sure. anyways, they broke the silence to tell me i've been waitlisted. sayonara - withdrawing

3/28: was away from my po box for 2 weeks. in the interim, received a scholarship offer from usc for $25k/year, no strings.

4/7: penn wl, may ride it out, we'll see.

4/14: silence - nyu, columbia, cornell, where are you?

4/22: columbia reserve letter received today. nyu's not accepting anyone and harvard never got back to me, so looks like i'm depositing at ucla. can't get myself to schlep to dc when my life's in la.

4/23: cornell reserve - bizzzzzzzarre.

7/28: still on columbia third reserve...

We congrats on the great choice! I'm still a little up in the air...given my late app, I was too late for scholly consideration until after the deposit, so I'm sort of still up in the air...but I let you know if I will joining you in Westwood next year!
