Acceptances so far (I should've been updating this as I was receiving them):
10/20 Duke's priority track came through just like they said. Accepted via email about a week after I sent in my app.
11/19 Berkeley came in November via a totally unexpected phone call from Dean Tom. I was looking at the people on LSN that got into Boalt this cycle and I think that my GPA's in the bottom quartile. Considering Boalt's reputation for liking high GPAs, I was honestly expecting a waitlist or a flatout rejection. Their acceptance package was really nice too, with lots of well-designed and informative material. For anyone wondering, my personal statement was only two pages long and was the same one I sent to all my other schools.
12/21 Michigan acceptance was via snail-mail and arrived the day before I went home for Christmas break. Wow, they have a gorgeous campus. Nice personal note from Dean Zearfoss, too. I've heard almost nothing but good things about Michigan from students and graduates online.
12/27 NYU also came through snail-mail. I'm incredibly happy about this one. I'm pretty worried about the cost, though.
1/18 In at UVA!
1/25 The one day I leave my phone at home, I miss a call from Penn. I called them back today and found that I've been accepted!
1/25 A couple hours later, another call comes from Chicago. Today's been a good day.
1/25 Green envelope in the mail today from Columbia! Best day ever.
2/04 Stanford rejects me. Sad but not surprising. The streak couldn't last forever.
2/06 Harvard deferral email. I'm going to send a letter of continued interest soon.
2/09 Yale rejection in the mail. Least surprising development of all.
2/20 Dean's Scholarship at Michigan! 20k per year, total of 60k.
4/10 $40k at Columbia! Totally unexpected and makes me pretty likely to go there.

Our numbers are pretty close, and we're applying to a lot of the same schools. Good luck to both of us!

On Duke and Cal!
Stanford/Berkeley Saturday, November 24th, 2007 at 5:25 pm
Congrats on Duke and Berkeley!
I'm mostly restricting myself geographically because I'm part of a two body move. Stanford is an exception because it has some great interdisciplinary options in my graduate field and some offerings in education law, which is my intended focus.

Read my additional information, some of them were actually EA's that call themselves ED's. None of them were binding. Congrats on NYU.

I actually went to UMontana. I'm just in WA for grad school. So few schools because my fiance is doing a fellowship at UCLA; I'm probably going there.
Looks like your cycle is going good thus far. Good luck the rest of the way!

Hi, this is kind of random, but it looks like you might have gone to UW for undergrad. I go there right now (applying for law schools this fall) and I was wondering how they calculated your LSDAS GPA? Since the UW has a strange grading system I was wondering if it helped or hurt you? Thanks!
Thanks Monday, July 14th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it! Steve Klein? I'll look into that... I'm really impressed by your LSAT score, how did you achieve such a high score? I'm studying right now, but because I leave to study abroad soon (gone for the month of August) I'm considering taking the December test, but I'm unsure because I don't want my apps to be sent in late... once again thanks, and congratulations on Columbia!!!
