Additional info & updates

Hoping to get into Santa Clara, UC Hastings, or another semi-good international law school concerning my GPA and LSAT. I might take the LSAT again to see if I can get a better score hopefully.

I filled out the early application for Santa Clara Law and will be visiting their campus next week.
My friend goes to UC Hastings so while i'm in the area I might have a chat with her... but really think my LSAT score is too low and I will be rejected.

Pepperdine is on my list as well, along with San Diego. Since I live here in San Diego I will go meet up with them to see how I can better my chances of getting in.

Any advice would be helpful. I already took a semester of Kaplan and studied as best I could concerning I'm working full time and going to school full time.

I checked out Santa Clara and Hastings, very nice schools and very different. Santa Clara is in a nice atmosphere and more quite, Hastings is in downtown SF and very busy and crowded. I sent my app to California Western as more of a back-up. I will send out my apps soon, just need to finish revising my personal statement, probably after finals, then send out the rest and pray.

Ok, just sent out apps to Stetson and ASU and will probably send out a couple more by the end of today, just having a friend double check my personal statement before I send it out to more.

Update on Santa Clara, I got rejected from the early admission so they put me on the regular admission cycle. I might tell them I will start with PT. I am looking more towards American University though as others with my numbers got in, I would really be excited to get in there... but ASU is good since my Brother is going there on a Wrestling scholarship.

Ok, just sent out apps to ASU, USD, American, U of Pacific, Penn State, Hawai'i, and Loyola.

Everyday at work I keep refreshing my email to see if I will be accepted or rejected and from which schools. Then I spend more time researching other schools that have a strong International Law program that I would possibly be interested in applying to. I think I have a big enough list, but I think i'm sick or something... So filled out extra apps to Ohio, Albany, Southwestern, Seattle, USF, Miami, and finished up the LEOP application for Hastings (really hoping they will accept me!)

I changed my status for Santa Clara to Part Time for a better chance to be accepted into their program, since I wasn't accepted under the early decision.

Just received an email last night from American University saying that I wasn't accepted. That was one of my top choices... Hopefully I get some good news from other schools soon to up my spirits. Anyways, on my way to rally for the Egyptian people who are revolting against their oppressive government!

Just got email saying I was accepted to Stetson Law School!! Yayy, my first acceptance and a really good school, i was checking it out and it's great for someone who wants to get involved in international law like me!! They have a study abroad program to the Hague :) Hopefully I will get some money to attend there as well. Also they have a beautiful pool and gym, and next to the beach!

2-16-11 - Accepted into Southwestern! Hmm, Tampa Bay or Beverly Hills? Both has programs to the Hague. Let's see where else i get in.
Damn, got in mail a rejection from USF, oh well... still happy about the acceptances

2-26-11 - Rejected from Hawaii, Hastings, waitlisted at Miami and Penn State. Visted Southwestern, wasn't too impressed.

3-9-11 - Waitlisted at McGeorge. Anyways, I had a really good chat session with Stetson about their international law program, went really well... and I'm going on a campus visit of Cal Western to see how they compare.

3-11-11 - Got an email for admitted students event at Seattle law, so went and checked and found out I was accepted there :) Yayy

3-20-11 - Got into Cal Western.
I'm kinda bummed that I didn't get into any of the top schools I was looking forward to. People suggesting that I would be much much better if I took a year and applied for next cycle, working on my LSAT score and getting into a top law school with $$$. Am really considering that at this point :(

3-23-11 - Rejected from ASU
Anyways, been doing some searching and am kinda realizing that I don't think a J.D degree would help in what I'm wanting to accomplish in my life. I am really interested in International Law but Law schools just use that as a ploy to get people in, and most people wont even be able to use their degree for anything useful. So instead I just applied to the University for Peace, they have a masters program in International Law and Dispute Settlement, and the program caters around everything I wish to learn and work with. With the J.D program I would have to learn about a bunch of shit like property law that I can care less about. Anyways, hopefully I am accepted and I'm off to Costa Rica :)
