Additional info & updates

I just got my LSAT score back and I'm excited to apply. My numbers are skewed slightly on here. I applied to 17 schools, and I'll add each one as I get a decision. Best of luck to everyone on a successful cycle!

--------------------------------------------------

First decision:
Nov. 21st
Placed on hold at Texas to be considered with the regular decision pool. Texas is really shaking things up this cycle. Glad that I'm at least still in the game!

Dec. 4th
Waitlisted (ED) at UCLA
Decision mailed at Washington and Lee

Dec. 7th
Decision mailed at Northeastern
Decision Pending at William and Mary. Very disappointed with this (looks like those who go decision pending have to wait until March). I'd certainly be disappointed by a waitlist as I'm a big fan of W&M.

Also, getting stressed at this point about the Boston College decision next week, as it's one of my top schools!

Dec. 9th
-Updated Decision Pending at Boston College (It now says "Decision Pending 12/08/09"); it used to say "Decision Pending 10/27/09" or something like that
-Went from "Under Review 11/22" to Under Review "12/09" at Georgetown

Dec. 10th
In at Washington and Lee!

In at Northeastern with $25,500 scholarship and $3,000 stipend!

Dec. 14th
Cornell status checker went "decision" on 12/11
Called this morning and found out I've been deferred.

Dec. 17th
Got a really nice voicemail from BU's dean saying I've been accepted.

Dec. 18th
In at Boston College by large envelope. s a good sign, but really I have no idea.

Optional Essay

I submitted the optional essay. I had an almost complete personal statement that I morphed into the W&M optional essay. Good luck!

Thanks! :)

BC vs BU
Friday, June 26 2009 at 08:00 PM

I'm still trying to decide. I think I'm out of the running for $$ at BU, so I'll have to see what BC offers. I'm a little nervous about BU being right in the middle of Boston (I'm a country girl) so BC being outside, but near, sounds pretty good to me too. I'm going to go to BC's admitted students' day and then visit BU while I'm up there to see which one I like better. Right now they're both looking pretty good although the $$ at W&M is still pretty tempting. But if Cornell ever comes around and shows some love, I'll probably head there (but I'm not holding my breath) If you're headed to BC's ASD, let me know! I know a bunch of people will be there-- we should all meet up!

BU

Yeah, a few people got scholarships in a separate letter, but lately they've been included in the acceptance package. Plus, it seems like they only hand out the $$ to the folks w/high GPAs. (At least based upon last year's cycle) I haven't figured out BC's scholarship pattern-- based on LSN's data from last year, there really doesn't seem to be a pattern at all. Good luck at ND!!

grant

Hi there! My Davis scholarship was a need-based grant. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any merit money from Davis :( All the other scholarships I have listed are merit-based. Hope that helps! At this point I'm leaning toward Hastings. I will die a little inside giving up all that money to other schools, but I think Hastings will probably give me the best options for where I want to practice. I haven't counted anywhere else out yet though. How bout you?

Thanks, and you too! You've had a great cycle. Isn't it a relief that it's almost over? Right now, unless I get some serious money from BU, I'll probably be at BC. I absolutely loved Boston and BU and BC, so I'll be happy either way. My BC money was a grant, but I heard there's more money on the way so hold out some hope! Where do you think you'll be heading?
