ADDITIONAL INFO & UPDATES

10/14: All applications are submitted. And now, we wait.

10/27: It took nearly all month to receive application receipt confirmation from LSU. I called and emailed prior to receiving the email receipt notice, which was not very helpful.

11/16: An acceptance as a first response feels great! Villanova was the last school I applied to and the first school I heard from, which took approximately 1 month. Best advice I would give to applicants is to apply as early as possible. I never even dreamed I would get this kind of scholarship money. Can't wait to see what comes next.

11/19: Rejected from UT via email. No big surprise there.

12/05: Accepted at Tulane! I'm amazed that I was not initially wait listed since the predictor indicated me as a weak consider. Just shows you that you never know and should apply to schools you consider to be a bit of a reach!

12/13: Alright all, I saw on my Denver status update that it went from "in review" to nothing at all, and it had been well over eight weeks since I submitted my application (side note: they said in an email a decision should be received in 6-8 weeks). So I emailed the admissions office to inform them of the issue and they replied with: "The Admissions Committee rendered a decision on your application on Friday (12/9). You should receive an e-mail notifying you of the decision today or tomorrow.". Then I checked the online status checker, which listed "admit." That was a mess.

Email from admissions arrived later today. $11,000 in scholarship per year to be added to the acceptance.

12/19: University of Arizona status checker = decision mailed on 12/23/2011.... Anyone else see this on their Arizona status checker?

12/27: Waitlisted at Arizona via snail mail.

01/03: Accepted at Seton Hall via Status Checker. Snail mail acceptance packet to arrive soon. Hopefully some scholarship $$ will be included. Oh happy day! And a happy new year to you all at LSN :).

01/07: Acceptance letter from Seton Hall arrived via snail mail with a $25k/yr scholarship offer and top half stipulation. New Jersey isn't looking so bad currently. Anyone know why they have jumped substantially in ranking in recent years?

Tulane is top choice with Seton Hall as a close second. Hope to hear from some more Texas schools by the end of the month.

1/13: "File in Review" at University of Houston via online Status Checker.

1/17: Accepted at LSU! Status checker indicates decision rendered, please check email. Acceptance email received and packet mailed. Hopefully scholarship opportunities will be in the packet :)!

1/31: Deferred to the regular applicant pool at SMU via Status Checker. At least it wasn't a straight rejection, but that isn't too promising. Hopefully good news to come in April. Tulane is looking better each day.

2/2: File in review at Houston via Status Checker.

2/9: Baylor Status Checker indicated that my decision letter was sent via snail mail.

2/10: Waitlisted at American via email. Guess that is better than a straight rejection. I still have hope :).

2/13: Rejected at Baylor for the Fall via Snail Mail. However, they said they would accept me for the Spring 2013 term if I applied. Not much of a surprise there, they are strangely selective for not being a tier 1 school. Who wants to be in Wacko anyway for three years?

On another note, seems like Texas schools are not so sure about me. Tulane is looking better each and every day! Can't wait until I visit them at the end of the month :)

03/02: Accepted at Houston. This is a very serious contender for me based on the in-state tuition price.

03/23: Waitlisted at William and Mary. Did not see that one coming! I assumed straight rejection.

4/18: Waitlists are stupid and should be abolished. Thanks SMU.

4/30: Pulled off the Wait list at American. Though it is a great school and I would love to go there, the school's price tag is not going to provide better financial opportunities post graduation than comparably ranked schools that I have been accepted to that are less expensive. Withdrawn.

Congratulations on your acceptance to Villanova! Did you by any chance notice how long you were "in review?"

I did not actually, but from what I've noticed I think most schools that did ED or EA started reviewing the first week of November and sending decisions out mid November.

did your tulane status checker say under review before you got a decision? CONGRATS!

I think for Tulane all it said was application complete or something. It wasn't very specific. I know that I checked the status update yesterday and nothing had changed and then this afternoon I got an email and I double checked the online status update, which had also been changed once I received the email.

Congrats on Tulane! Did you receive any scholarship from them? I'm requesting for a fee waiver, yet still don't get any response yet.

Nope, no scholarship from Tulane unfortunately. They sent me a merit based fee waiver based on my GPA.

Congrats on a great cycle so far! We have similar numbers. I went to Tulane for undergrad; it's a great school. I keep going back and forth about applying to the law school...I don't know if you have visited or not, but if you have any questions about the city or university in general, I'd be happy to answer them.

How long did it take after LSU updated you to under review for a decision? Mine just went from review to in committee review and was curious how often I should be checking. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Congrats on the acceptances and schollys. We have similar numbers and I've also applied to UH in the ED process like you. But I havent received a response like you, and my file has been in review for a month now. Is it just me, or do you also think the delay is too much? Greetings

Agreed, U of H has been taking an extremely long time and I applied fairly early. Disclaimer though, I noticed about a month after I submitted my applications, in November, that my residency questionaire was not completed, and in turn was submitted late. I figured this was the reason for my delay. This might have affected my early application submission, I'm not sure. I hope to at least hear from them during March, if not, I may just withdraw my application after inquiring about the delay.

Well, according to their website, if the applicant's file is complete by December 1st, the latest he/she can expect an answer is the last day of February. We are already in March and all the attempts I've made to inquire about my application have been fruitless. So much for Early Decision. Thanks for replying and good luck

Yes, ma'am! I'm excited to head down there in the next month or two, but I'm not looking forward to dealing with that weather for the next three years (or more). We're in for a fun ride, I'm sure!
