Additional info & updates

Yea..so rejection letters are never any fun...

I took the LSAT in Feb, received a 142 ( definitely should have prepared way more, I underestimated the power of panic at an exam), but started scoping out other options. I was very hesitant to create this profile, but it's only fair since so many others have helped me with their own information provided.

Most of the rejections I received were delivered quite quickly after my status went to "complete"...within a week or so, the status either changed to denied, not admitted at this time, or letter will be sent.

The "pending" applications have been that way for about 1-2months, but some indicate that it takes 10 weeks for a response, so I will await their reply.

* I was accepted to AAMPLE programs for many schools, yet I never actually applied to the school itself, just the AAMPLE program. In my opinion, if I was to do AAMPLE, I might as well set my pride aside--take an LSAT course--then re-aaply next cycle with a better LSAT. AAMPLE programs seem reasonable only if you are in a situation where you must attend law school in the fall, no questions asked...otherwise--if you have the time to maybe work or apply for a masters program, do that and re-try for law school. A professor of mine told me, that if Law school is truly your passion and you dont get into the school you want...it's not the end of the world, try again, study more (even though it sucks) and try for a higher LSAT. I dont know, but it makes sense to me. Anyways best of luck to everyone !!

Any questions, feel free to ask.

I will post any updates below:

Rejected from Vermont Law School via email

[5/2/11]
Rejected from a couple of more schools...oh well.
Pace, SUNY, Marquette, Seton Hall, and Fordham.

A proposed solution by Widener was an invitation to their TAP program...anyone involved with this? Anyone going?...How was it? Do only 17 out of 100 really pass? Questions need answers. thanks.

Marquette, the very kind-hearted admissions council sent a lovely rejection letter. It was actually very sweet, didnt think they'd do it. They did not neglect to point out that it was due to my academics, but because of the influx of applications and the amount of seats available for Fall.

I have my eye on one of these schools, it will devastate me if I do not get in. AH! the waiting game sucks!

in the meantime...finals are here...graduation too..and all I can do is repeatedly check the status of these remaining apps.

FINAL THOUGHTS

[5/12/11]

well this cycle was quite a rude awakening....
I plan on taking a powerscore course this summer and then re-taking the October LSAT. In the meantime I will get my masters degree. Good luck to the rest of you!!

I'm sure if you were to retake the LSAT and raise it, you should have no problem getting into better law schools! Your GPA for your major is very high and law schools love to accept non-liberal arts related majors as those are very rare (or so I've heard) good luck!!! :)

Best to you as well! It's neat to see that you're gonna try again!
