Additional info & updates

My gpa is what kills me. I have a strong upward trend but I really
doubt that it comes into play much. I really wish I could teleport back to when I was 19 and not be content with C's.
Or teleport back to my final two years in college and take extra courses that would bump my gpa.

whatever.

I really want Cincinnati, Penn, Houston, Indiana and Lewis and Clark. Besides Penn, these are all reaches. I hope one of them sticks!

02/05/10- Got acceptance letter from University of South Dakota today. It is a really, really cheap law school but I have a feeling I would be limited to this area upon graduation. Decisions, decisions. Regardless, it feels good to get my first acceptance.

02/13/10- In at St. Thomas via snail mail. I mainly applied b/c of fee waiver but the $20,000 a year scholarship puts them on par with USD, and I could definitely see myself living in Minneapolis. Hmm...

02/17/10- Accepted at Ohio Northern. Can't even really consider it without a decent scholly.

02/18/10- Hamline waitlist?

02/24/10- Accepted by Marquette today. I do like the area but a scholarship would be essential to my attendance.

02/28/10-First rejection! From Illinois. Absolutely no surprise. I praise their expedience.

03/01/10- Accepted via email by Loyola Chicago. Email says that they usually do not inform this way but I have until midnight tonight to fill out a scholarship form. And of course I would really need a scholarship to go here. This is my first acceptance from a weak consider school on LSP. I taking this to mean that my app is strong.

03/02/10- Penn hates me.

03/05/10- Depaul waitlist. That's what I get for applying late. I would choose Loyola over Depaul so no harm there.

03/05/10- Accepted at Drake. $7,500 a year scholarship. They have great placement in Iowa. On the other hand, St. Thomas is in the same region and has offered a more substantial scholarship.

ATTENTION BARRY, FLORIDA COASTAL AND COOLEY! GET THE HELL OUT OF MY INBOX!

03/11- Letter from Nebraska today saying that they are still considering me but won't render a decision until early April. They want to evaluate applications that were submitted by the march 1 deadline. I'm still interested in Nebraska but I hate how schools don't really care about the deposits that are due in April. They should really standardize or something.

03/15- Waitlist at Cincinnati. Boo!

03/17- Received an acceptance email today from Indianapolis. I would go here no questions asked if I could get in state tuition. Unfortunately this is not possible. The gap between resident and out of state tuition at this school is a crime. Out of of state is more than double the cost.

03/27- Denied at Wyoming. Hmm... Waitlist at St. Louis. Chicago Loyola is now offering me $10,000 a year. This school is looking like my best option so far. Decent ranking and a little money. On the other hand there is a pretty good chance I might not be attending. The more I research the more law school looks like a shitstorm hellfuck of rolling the dice on you future.

03/22- denied at Oregon, fuck.

I have similar numbers as you and am also really rooting for acceptance to Lewis and Clark - interested in the IP program. good luck with your cycle.

I had the same problem. My first year of college was awful. Did great in high school but didn't care at first. Was tired of school. Bad decision. Paying for it ever since. Transferred when I moved to SD and graduated Cum Laude with a 3.7 but my cumulative still haunts me. Glad to see another South Dakotan on here. Good luck with your cycle. I hope you get your top choice.

Did you issue a GPA addendum with all of your apps? I think that they look at them, especially when you have such a split between the two numbers was there a real reason for it as well?

It depends on the addendum. For me, I was diagnosed with dyslexia, so that might work. If there is no reason, then you are right, ignore it... Best of luck on LC as well, hope we both get in
