yeah, I'm a little surprised as well. I guess the 1 LSAT point and .02 GPA points meant something to them...It was definitly being waitlisted and not defered because it said "I am writing to inform you of the status of your application. We have completed a thorough review of your application, and would like to offer you a space on our waitlist for the 2007 entering class. " I am surprised to get it through e-mail and not real mail, since your decicion came in the real mail, but mabye thats just for acceptances.
My status still doesn't say "decision." They still don't have an admitted student website up yet either.

congrats on duke and g-town...I just got into duke today, and was wondering about your award letter...did you ask for it on your application or was it merit based? (sorry if thats a stupid question, im not exactly sure how its going to work)...wanted to know what my chances were at getting a little money from them in the futrue (i didn't ask for aid on the app)
How does Cornell defer you? WTF? Also, yeah it looks like we're getting pwnd by Michigan. I sent them a letter of continuing interest today, hoping that will make some difference. Good luck.
i know what you mean about undergrad prestige, i'm worried about that too. where did you go to school?
i went to merrimack college, only 2,000 kids in the boston suburbs, not too prestigious either. anyway, congrats on duke and georgetown, and i hope you make it into your #1 choice!

No virginia decision, i'm beginning to feel left out. I doubt it'll be the end of this round of decisions for them, though. Maybe we'll get that e-mail by the end of the week.
on michigan. that's awesome news. i had a similar lack of ECs during college, although i do have some scholarly publications under my belt. i was honestly thinking of becoming a prof before deciding on LS, which is why i don't have all the bells and whistles leadership ECs that everyone else seems to have.

You've been complete since Sept and you still haven't heard anything??? Any idea what they are doing? I've been waiting since 10/6, not quite as long as you. Has your status been updated yet on their website?

I haven't heard anything either. I think we've been effectively deferred. Looking at this cycle's decisions, I couldn't be more borderline. Good luck and hope you hear from them soon.
Congrats on the Duke offer, thats very nice. You have gotten more than your fair share of deferrals....better than rejections though. So do you think you will go to U Mich? I am probably going to go to GULC unless something changes dramatically in the next month or so.
I like your idea for the UVa waitlist... they can suck it.
