Additional info & updates

Battled undiagnosed medical issue for the first 2 years of college, and death of a close family member the 3rd year, amazing upward trend since then and trying to make it even more amazing this fall. I plan to apply for Fa 2012, but if I have to I'll wait until Fall 2013 to finish out the Spring strong and take a year off and work.

First time I took the LSAT and literally did not study at all. I never even did a PT. I was back and forth on whether or not I would take it, and decided to give it a shot and and go for it.

Took it again this month and this time prepared for about 2 months. Unless I get a rock star score I'm pretty sure I'll take it once more just because.

I was PTing in the high 150s to low 160s, so we'll see.

Also taking a large summer and fall load to try and get up to a 2.8 by the end of fall. Plan on applying the same day as I get my grades for fall - well that's when I'll have my trans sent to lsac, other than that I will have everything else ready to go by November 1 is my goal.

-------------------------------------------------

After much thought I decided law school is not for me. I'm applying for a master's degree right now and will go from there. Looking back I kind of miss the planning I did, it was actually a weird kind of 'fun' for me. Good luck to everyone on your cycles! You may see me on the "14-15" cycle hahaha.

Hey Good luck to you!! Always good to see black people reaching for the stars!! How come no higher tier schools? Your LSAT qualifies you for LSU,Loyala NO,Stetson and NCCU and much more. You are a black woman and law school's are desperate for students like yourself!! Dont be afraid to be greedy.

I agree with BLACKMAN1

You definitely should try some better tiered schools! Last night I was doing some research, looking at different law school websites at the demographics info of the 2011 entering class. Most of the schools have LESS than 20% of minorities enrolled. Most schools actually hang right at 17% and from what I hear, they tend to allow for lower GPAs where URM are concerned. Girl you better step it up and see if you can get into a better program...and you'd probably even get a decent financial package! In the words of BLACKMAN1...BE GREEDY! Lol! Good luck!
