Given my average LSAT score, I have strategically picked schools that look beyond numbers. With that said, I would attend each of the schools to which I applied. Being from Wisconsin, UW holds a special place in my cycle given the reasonableness of the university's in-state tuition and, of course, no bar exam.

1-16-09: Sent American, Suffolk, Hamline, William and Mary, and William Mitchell applications.

1-18-09: Sent Wisconsin application.

1-20-09: E-mail from Wisconsin. Application received.

1-21-09: E-mail from William and Mary. Applications received.

1-21-09: E-mail from William Mitchell. Application received and complete.

1-22-09: E-mail from Suffolk and American. Applications received.

1-27-09: E-mail from William and Mary. Application complete.

1-28-09: E-mail from Hamline. Application received and complete.

1-29-09: E-mail from Wisconsin. Application complete.

2-2-09: Patience is a virtue.

2-6-09: Accepted at William Mitchell via snail mail! It's a huge relief to receive the first one. One of my LORs was written by an alumni--I'm certain that helped!

2-17-09: Accepted at Hamline via phone call! Scholarship info to follow in the next few days.

2-20-09: Rejected at American via snail mail. The LSAT strikes, oh well...

3-09-09: E-mail from Suffolk. Application complete. Took long enough.

3-13-09: Visited William Mitchell over the weekend. Thrilled with its emphasis on practical skills. I was also impressed with its large network of graduates and its reputation in the Cities . Loved Summit Avenue. Mitchell remains a top contender.

3-16-09: The wait is agonizing...

3-26-09: Waitlisted at William & Mary via snail mail. A complete surprise! I was expecting the worst.

4-10-09: Rejected from both Wisconsin and Suffolk. What a disappointment. Apparently it wasn't meant to be...
