Extra Curricular Information

Now that my cycle is over, I'll add some more details. Just put up scholarship amounts over three years. Fulbright research scholar, tri-lingual... and leadership positions and year-long study abroad in college, but those seem like standard fare.

Because of a double-degree program that I got into later in the cycle and because of Penn's focus on the ''interdisciplinary'', Penn was my first choice from the beginning. As a result, I didn't make any effort towards getting off the ''held'' lists at Columbia or Harvard. It is also very COLD in Chicago. UVA's generous scholarship offer (and beautiful campus in Charlottesville) almost pulled me away from Penn, but thank goodness given my zealotry for all things Penn...they matched it and then UP-ed it!!

Additional info & updates

Applications are in a lot later than I wanted. Waited a LONG time for a rec from a prof who was on sabbatical. Hope it doesn't affect my cycle too much!

Still writing an extra essay for NYU...

THANK YOU DUKE!!! I'm officially going to law school!!!!!!
--Accepted for JD/LLM in int'l and comparative law

Georgetown acceptance postmarked 12/15. Didn't get it until 12/19..geeeeeeeez USPS.

1/13/2010 IN AT PENNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!! I got an email about the accepted students website before a phone call. Not sure if that's due to problems getting in touch with me (I'm abroad and so had to provide my Skype number).

02/02/2010 IN AT UVA!!!!!!!!! Cordel Faulk seems like a very nice guy.

Realized as I was putting in UVA info that I forgot to put U Chicago on my list. Considering that I also obsessively use that status checker, it's a strange omission on my part.
