-----------------------------------------------------------------------
01-05-06: Got into DePaul...sent me a free t-shirt. Shirt was too big...will not be attending.

01-19-06: Waitlisted at Loyola?? What the shit?

01-20-06: Got email from dean at Kent re: snail mail acceptance letter that I still haven't received (as of 1/26)

01-26-06: In @ John Marshall. Yay. Still no word from UIUC...

01-27-06: Got actual letter from Kent ($10k scholarship/year)

02-01-06: Hold letter from Wisconsin-Madison. Aparently it's like the wait list, only better...kind of like first class check in @ the airport.

02-02-06: Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame. Got acceptance email from Heather @ ND Law. Definitely unexpected. Affirmative action at work? Are Jews an URM at ND?
Also got a large manilla envelope from Fordham!! Telling me I am waitlisted... Talk about false advertising.

02-06-06: Small envelope from UIUC - deferred :( , but I suppose it's better than a rejection.

02-07-06: Big envelope from Notre Dame chock full of good stuff. I think that more schools should send out t-shirts like DePaul.

02-08-06: Withdrew from Valpo, MSU, and John Marshall. Hoping for some sort of karmic retribution in the form of large envelopes.

02-11-06: Received a fee waiver from Regent based on my attendance at a Christian undergraduate institution(University of Illinois?). Sadly I will not be taking them up this offer.

02-13-06: First rejection letter from Georgetown...not a huge surprise! Looking forward to more small, thin envelopes from Berkeley, Vandy, Iowa, Emory, and GWU.

02-27-06: Reason #3544 why I hate Mondays. Rejection letters in small envelopes from George Washington & Boston College. Maybe applying in January wasn't the best idea.

3-2-06: This is not a good week at all. Small envelope from Emory.

03-08-06: Finally, some much needed good news. Just received an acceptance email from Iowa. Dear Emory & BC,
Blow me!

03-11-06: Small rejection letter from Berkeley. What the hell took so long?

03-17-06: Small envelope in the mail from Vandy. Only waiting on WUSTL now. No word on deferrals or waitlists.

03-18-06: Small envelope from WUSTL. Not rejected, more like waitlisted/deferred. If their law school admissions office is anything like their UG, I'll get a rejection letter on or around my 3rd day of classes elsewhere.

03-23-06: Just got an email from Iowa inviting me to their admitted students day on MARCH 3. Keep in mind today is the 23rd day of March. Wow...

04-03-06: Withdrew applications from DePaul & Indiana

04-11-06: Withdrew application from Miami. Looks like I'm stuck in the midwest for the next 3 years :(

05-04-06: Got a call from Loyola today offering me a seat. Wow...thanks, but no thanks. For future reference, "optional" applications essays are not, in fact, optional.

05-08-06: Called the UIUC admissions office. I have been moved from the "hold" list to the "preferred waitlist." Not sure what this means exactly, but I'm guessing if a few dozen peoples' checks get "lost in the mail," I'll have a spot. I should know around May 21. I'm not holding my breath...

05-15-06: Rejection letter from Fordham. Another one bites the dust...
08-30-06: Been a while since I updated. Will be attending Notre Dame in the fall of 2007 after receiving $39k/yr to defer for one more year. Yay free law schoo!

Got offered $$ at MSU, Indiana, Valpo. & Miami. Indiana seems to the the only viable choice right now, but I can\\\'t see myself as Hoosier (go Illini!)

UIUC hold

I got a letter in the mail today. I thought it was a rejection because it was obviously a single page.

UIUC deferral
Tuesday, January 24 2006 at 07:00 PM

At UIUC they sent me a letter through regular mail that said my application was on hold. I got it in the beginning of January. It was the same as the Minnesota deferral. Good luck.

Got the same deferral letter man. Hang in there. At least you got into Notre Dame!

UMN-TC

Congrats on your acceptances. You holding any hope out for UMN? I think your fate is likely the same as mine.

I'm not holding my breath. I don't think I'll be too upset about not having to pay out of state tuition at a school with COLDER winters than Chicago.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm looking forward to UIUC...had I not gone to ND undergrad though it would probably be my top choice, so congrats on your acceptance. The ND network will stay with you the rest of your life, you won't regret going there. Let me know if you have any ND questions, and hopefully you get into UIUC if that remains your top choice!

nice work

we are applying to basically the same schools, and both on hold at illinois. why dont you want to go to ND, i wish i could get in there, but my grades are pitiful. good luck

For one, I love the C-U area (call me crazy, but I can't get enough of the place). Plus in state tuition is very tempting. Finally I'm Jewish and the I'm not sure how comfortable I am with attending a VERY conservative/religious Catholic school. Best of luck with U of I.

Congrats

WL and deferrals

No convictions....went to UIUC undergrad so didn't really care if I went there. Notre Dame....probably have a shot but don't want to follow through....I like UMinn and BC so far.

Hey, congrats on your acceptances! I saw on another profile you had commented that you loved your UG experience at UIUC. I'm seriously considering going there for LS in 07, but am concerned about the area. What did you like about the school/area in particular? Btw be careful in Ghana - there's a lotta hucksters there who'll try to take you for what you're worth.

congrats!

on some really good schools. i'm digging on notre dame and kent. those are two of my top schools. i hope you get into uiuc. it appears that's where you really want to be. i'll take loyola/kent if i can get it. can i ask you a question? if i get into kent/loyola, i am leaning towards going part time to have an additional summer to work. i might even work during during the year for 3L & 4L if i can pass the patent bar. what do you think? would this be a wise idea? i think it could help for that loyola ip interview thing. thanx and good luck with your remaining apps.
