waitlists cont.

I heard that GW overenrolled last year and to be careful they underaccepted and are putting a lot of emphasis on the waitlist, however I don't know how well we will fare, there seem to be a lot of people ahead of us, the best advice i've heard is to stay on as long as you can and frequently remind them of your interest. As for WM I know that this is the first year that they have done this aggressive fee waiver recruiting and as a result have offered acceptance to a ton of people who have no real interest in going. I have also heard that they were the "safety du jour" this year and these two things lead me to believe that they too will pull hard from the waitlist, I would be surprised if we didn't get admitted in mid to late May.

that is so strange that you got waitlisted by CUNY, considering it's a tier 4 and you've been accepted to a tier 1. They are really strange, not even selective, just strange about admission. WEIRD.

i've visited. i mean - the campus is no UNC. no urban campus will be. brooklyn heights is an ok nyc neighborhood. i work in biglaw recruiting - so i know brooklyn has a great reputation, even with the big ny firms, and i'm impressed by the clinical opportunities and the public service focus there. they seem to really have their shit together - the "admitted students" program was really informative, and the student body seems to be pretty laid back. again, its no unc but i'm happy with my decision to go there. as far as bls vs. wake -- i've never been a big winston fan, and i don't really like wake's campus either - undergrad is so so incredibly greek. anyway, let me know what you decide, and congrats either way!
