Note:
I'm 28 years old and officially decided that I wanted to go to become a lawyer several months ago. I'm working now as a Cosmetologist but I believe, amongst other people, that I was born to practice law. I think I've known this for a long time though I ignored it not realizing my capabilities. I had to go through a lot to get to where I am today. My journey has been long and hard, even at 28, I've been through things some people never go through, but yet I'm still here. Convicted and ready to embrace my new journey, the one I believe was set out for me before I ever knew, and hoping that I have the opportunity to make a difference in society and in people's lives. This is just the beginning for me and I'm excited about the future that awaits me. I wish everyone the best of luck at accomplishing your dreams, no matter what they may be, they are possible!!
Currently I'm enrolled in a private accredited university in Jacksonville, FL. The thing I love most about it is that I get to take these great classes including, but not limited to, contract law, torts, family law, criminal law, wills, estates and trusts, and so much more, as a part of my curriculum. It's so much better than taking electives that have nothing to do with my major, which is legal studies. If I chose to do so I will be able to work as a paralegal once I finish my AA which is fantastic, though I'm not sure that I will. I will cross that bridge when I come to it. The same applies in my curriculum for my BA as well with the majority of my classes being related to law. I have a feeling I'm going to appreciate it when I get to law school because I'll at least have a starting knowledge of everything and most of my professor's are lawyers with MBA degree's so they know what is to be expected from one who is going to law school. I feel so blessed to have the opportunities that I have.
I'm not quite sure which area of law I want to go into yet but my substantial interests lie in corporate and criminal law, or torts. That is another bridge that I will cross when I come to it!
Good Luck to everyone again! And if you wish to leave me a message, or advice, please do so! However, if you have nothing nice to say, please don't say anything at all. Thank you.
Best Wishes,
Meg Lingebach
