So I got full scholarship at Nova (tier4) and no $ for either Rutgers or Buffalo (both tier2). Opinions?

04/09 I visited Buffalo last week, so for those interested: it is not competitive, the campus is beautiful and cost of living is super-low. I was not impressed at all by the class I attended (criminal law). I don't care what they say, but their career services office is geared towards employment in the buffalo/rochester/syracuse area with mentors, internships, etc. They will try working with you on getting opportunities elsewhere, but it is not their focus.

04/10 I am leaning more an more towards Nova. I have a dependant and I am at an age where debt level matters, and being that I am not interested in working in a law firm or making partner, I don't feel the need to spend $$$ to attend a school b/c of its rankings. There is of course a huge difference between U of Miami and Nova, but I would be too stressed due to the financial situation.

For those out there going to better schools not because of their curricullum but because of the earning potential upon graduation: I have been in the corporate world for 20 years and make 6-figures, and let me tell you money is not everything. Working 80+ hrs a week is not something one can do for a long time and it takes its toll on the rest of your life, even if you are in your 20's. And you make the good money working on a sweatshop hating what you do. Think it through.

Hey, I'm assuming you are a NY state resident so you would qualify for in-state tuition at UB. I would say definitely go there, since its t2 and it would cost you like 10k/year. I'm sorta in the same boat, got full rides from some t4...waiting on some other t4 to see what they offer me, probably gonna get a full ride from them, but I want to go to FSU, since it will be cheap due to in-state tuition..around the same 10k/year and its 53. Hope it helps.

Because of in-state tuition and the good ranking, Buffalo rarely gives out money unless you have an amazing LSAT. I am choosing Buffalo over $ from other schools because it's ranked higher and has great placement throughout NY including NYC. I would definitely NOT go with a T3 or lower, just because they gave you $$$. Go to a T2! You will thank yourself later when you go to get a job.

Just wanted to say I like what you said about money and how it ties into life. Though Rutgers and Miami are better schools, at least in terms of their ranking, they might not be the best fit for you personally. I guess it sounds dumb but it does help people like me that are 23 have a better perspective when you get to read things like that from individuals with actual real world experience in the corporate world. Being a New Yorker, what is your take on Pace? Thanks again

I visited their campus and I liked it. I had an interview with the Director of Admissions and I liked how it was conducted and what I learned. It has a good reputation locally, better than NYLS, CUNY, Hofstra, Touro etc. Depends on what you want to do, they rank high on environmental and immigration law.

Quinnipiac

When did Quinnipiac notify you that they were taking you off of the waitlist, or did they? Did you just withdraw from the waitlist in general? Let me know when you get the chance, Quinnipiac is my first choice and im currently on the waitlist willing to do anything to gain acceptance.

With all due respect, Nova a Tier 4 school with Tuition alone at about $28,000 in no way compares to U of Buffalo which is a Top Law School in the USA and if you are a resident of NYS the total budget for everything each year is $28,000.
