Extra Curricular Information

While on campus, I was very active in student government, campus politics and I worked for the student run TV station.

For three years, I was very politically active and elected to leadership positions in a campus' political organization and its state's umbrella organization. Over that time, I was integral in planning campus rallies, guest speaker events, voter registration drives and political campaigning for local, state and federal candidates.

After graduating, I've worked as a press aide on a statewide U.S. Senate campaign, spent four years as a sports writer for a top-100 circulation newspaper and now I currently work as a paralegal for a NYC law firm.

Additional info & updates

2/9/10- The LSAT score of 152 was from Dec 2009 and I took the LSAT in Sept 2009 and canceled that score. I took the LSAT again in Feb 2010 (just three days ago) and currently waiting for that score (Feb 26th or March 1st). I expect that score to be higher, maybe in the 155-157ish range (crossing my fingers).

2/27/10- Just got a my Feb LSAT score of 150...bummer...even worse, it came today on my 28th birthday...oh, well...I might be changing my list a little bit.

3/1/10- After the impact of a lower LSAT score set in, I had to rush to finalize my personal statements and re-tailor my list of schools...

3/8/10-Got a fee waiver in the mail for Pace, so I sent in my app there...Also I finalized Hofstra and Southwestern and sent those off as well

3/29/10- I received my first decision of the cycle from Michigan State. I was wait listed. While it wasn't the result I was looking for, I know that I have more a puncher's chance for the other schools especially if MSU decided not to reject me outright. I am keeping positive.

4/1/10- I have finished all applications. Cal Western and Golden Gate were both late choices I made to give myself more options considering that I haven't gotten any acceptances yet. Really all I need is one of them to say, yes.

4/6/10- While driving back from Boston on Easter Sunday, I stopped over at UConn Law to take a short impromptu visit. I was impressed. The campus has the look and feel of an older private New England college with Gothic buildings and it has the CT State Attorney General's office on campus. Also the new 5 floor library is above and beyond any library I've seen so far from the other law schools I've visited.

5/22/10- I was trailing bottom of the 9th inning with 2 outs and I was down to my last strike....just looking down and out...with only 10 rejections and 5 waitlists to my name and then I got the hit...Detroit said I am in on May 22nd, Saturday...whew...got into law school...exhale...I am on the board.

5/24/10- To quote Vin Scully, "And, with two out, you talk about a roll of the dice... this is it."............."High fly ball into right field, she i-i-i-is... gone!! "In a year that has been so improbable... the impossible has happened!
In at Syracuse Law..

6/2/10- In at Dayton but it is 99.5% that I am going to Syracuse...Deposit is due on June 15 and I plan on sending mine in...I am waiting for Pace and others just to see if they can um...($$) persuade me to attend their law school...I am totally psyched about this...especially after 10 rejections and 5 WLs..I am in at a nationally well-known US News top 100 law school. Awesome.

the answer is both....I was notified by logging into the online status checker that a waitlist letter was on the way. Then I received the WL letter a couple days later with instructions. In addition to my numbers putting me on the bubble, I just get this feeling that since I applied late in the cycle, a lot of seats have been taken.

Did you send your deposit into Syracuse? I love that campus it is unbelievable. The snow might be a burden but I think Syracuse is great :)
