Early Decision
Thursday, October 20 2005 at 08:00 PM

Good luck with your apps, that is an impressive list of schools. However, I am not sure if you have already submitted or if you are aware that you are only permitted to apply to one school early decision. For example, if you were to get accepted to both Vanderbilt and Georgetown you would be forced to break a binding contract with one or the other which could possibly result in you not being able to attend either.......something you may want to address.

sorry

I think i MIGHT still apply to Vanderbilt...but I really don't think I have a great chance at being accepted there. You've got a great list of schools you're applying to, and a fabulous LSAT score. Good luck with everything! Kelly

congrats!

Addendum

Congrats on MD, Temple! Did you include a gpa addendum in any of your apps? I'm wondering if I should.

ED at vandy

it's a long story, but suffice it to say i wasn't treated well by the dean. i find him to be a jackass and rumor has it that several prominent professors will be leaving soon b/c of him. therefore, vandy is certainly not the place for me

Good luck

I echo everyone else's comments that your list of schools is impressive. We have very similar #'s and a few apps in common although I'm focusing more on the Southern US as I would like to stay in or around Texas. It's too bad UTexas didn't take you, but they do heavily favor in-state candidates, so it's probably more so that than anything else (and their loss!) Good luck with the rest of your apps!

Hey #s twin, sorry about the WL at Vandy. Some people say it's better than 'no', but I personally think waiting is the hardest part! Here's to hoping that a spot opens up for you. *raises glass*

hey

Would I wait...

for Vandy? I like to think: "What would Jack Bauer do?" But I can't threaten the dean within two inches of his life, so that really doesn't help me here. I'm just not sure that I want to hang all my hopes on a *chance* to go there. But still, now that UT has dinged me it's definitely my clear cut first choice, so I couldn't say for sure.

i can't take this suspense anymore!

Split

Congrats on your acceptances. It's an anxious game for us splitters. What are your feelings on Wake?

WFU

Wake is so far the highest on my list as well. I've heard similar things about the people, campus, school, etc. Are you going to the April 8th open house?

Wake v. UNC
Thursday, December 22 2005 at 07:00 PM

Well, my decision to withdraw from UNC is due largely to the fact that I know I'd never be happy there whereas there are many who'd love my spot. Purely a matter of personal preference, but I loved Wake. Beautiful campus, small classes (I hate big schools), excellent regional reputation, great people... I guess my feeling about Wake v UNC is that if you want to go into NC politics/public interest/government-type jobs, go for UNC; if you want a more corporate/private practice type job, then go to Wake. UNC is huge & it has this frat-party-like atmosphere that just rubs me the wrong way. Have you visited both schools? that's the best way to get a sense of the vibe. I wasn't that negative about UNC until I actually went and visited and it completely turned me off, whereas Wake and Duke went up several notches. Anyway, good luck to you, too!

Sorry about UNC, I see I can be expecting my ding shortly. I got a chance to visit Wake last weekend and loved it. Any idea where you are headed?
