Additional info & updates

I have spent the past year as a medicaid service coordinator for United Cerebral Palsy of NYC. Essentially, I work as a social worker in manhattan and the bronx. I have become incredibly interested in both disability and public interest law and hope to study a synthesis of the two in law school.

I am very much hoping on getting into CUNY. I would really like to attend there.

I also realize it is a bit of a stretch, but I am interested in Syracuse and their partnership with the Burton Blatt Institute as well.

Anyone think I have a shot at any of these schools? I hope so.

1/24/07: Accepted at Touro. Well, that's good news. At least now I know I don't have to move that far out of state. Still hoping for CUNY or Syracuse though.

1/25/07: Reject letter from NYLAW. It's ok., I don't mind - they are 38,000 a year! Kind of a money pit in my opinion.

2/2/07: Accepted at Widener. I have a choice between the Wilmington, DE or Harrisburg, PA campuses. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

2/05/07: Rejection from Hofstra. After that whole email fiasco. Insane. Oh well, I actually kind of forgot I applied there in the first place.

2/17/07: Accepted at Western State University School Of Law. $3000 dollar scholarship. Would have to be a little bit more money to entice me to make the trip out there, especially with the offer Touro has given me. We shall see, however.

2/20/07: Waitlisted at University of Baltimore. I was originally rejected, but upon receiving a new LSAT score they reviewed my application again and told me over the phone. I am actually kind of surprised. The person on the phone said that applications were down 20% this year and they were working on several different programs that I might qualify for. Kind of excited, nonetheless.

2/23/07: Penn State rejection. Oh well. Actually, a nicely worded rejection letter. It's their loss anyway. Plus, it's in the middle of nowhere.

2/26/07: University of Saint Thomas in Minneapolis - REJECTION! Oh well. Their loss.

03/06/07: Rutgers Newark rejection. I kind of expected it. Oh well.

03-09-07: My application has been held for another round at Thomas Jefferson. That's kind of silly. Looks like they won't offer me any money, so I will probably withdraw so that someone else can take my seat.

03-10-07: Waitlisted at Western New England College of Law. I will withdraw so that someone else can hopefully take a seat there.

03-21-07: As it turns out I was actually waitlisted from Frankling Pierce. Oh well.

03-26-07: Rejected from Washington & Lee. Can't say I care.

04-11-07: Accepted at Thomas Jefferson in San Diego. Over the phone. No info on scholarship though. Finally some good news.

04-16-07: Waitlisted at Syracuse. Major bummer. We shall see.

05-07-07: Cool! Rejected at Cuny! Only they made me wait five months! So awesome!

***Still eagerly anticipating CUNY.
