Crap, at least I could have hope when I was waiting no I'm just freaking out that I'm in the first group of rejects :(. One of my dream schools-love the area and everything I have read and heard.

Received an email from UIUC verifying that my app is on hold and will be given a second closer look before getting accepted, wait listed, or denied--here's hoping for the best.

UK sent a letter (thicker - reported by wife), maybe $, one can hope-right. Just info about applying for financial aid and that scholarships will be decided starting later this month through March.

UK offered $11,000 , basically it is fellowship that will pay for the difference between resident and non-resident tuition--very nice!

Well here it stands: 1 acceptance, 5 wait lists, 18 rejections. We're making preparations for the move to KY, but will still hold on to a few of the top wait lists in hope.

Okay, a little update. I was accepted to ASU with $10,000 for the first year, really great news. Then last week I was called by U of Arizona and offered $15,000/year for 3 years. I emailed to withdraw from ASU and they increased the scholarship to cover all tuition and fees for the first year. We have decided to attend UA and withdraw from ASU--hard decision given ASUs focus on genetics and the law.
