1-27-09 Received a big envelope from NYU. They sent it to my parents so I havent seen it, but it sounds like a fancy package. Never received an email saying my app was completed, but I'm not complaining.
3-4-09 I never received any emails from Gtown saying the received my application or that it went complete. So I emailed them asking about my app. They responded they had mailed the decision on Feb 17. I live abroad and it usually takes two weeks for mail to come, so any day now...
update: it actually arrived about half an hour after I wrote this. In at Gtown.
3-25-09 Recieved FinAid from NYU. $25000 deans scholarship over 3 years (10k-10k-5k). I think I completed the forms about 1 month ago.
3-27-09 Email in at Columbia. Not sure if they sent regular mail since it takes two weeks to get mail. Status checker still says "complete". Update: Actually they sent a letter to my permanent address. My parents just didn't tell me until now.
4-17-09 Did not respond to NYU's scholarship deadline. I felt they were too strict and uncompromising in their process. Fortunately Columbia essentially matched the scholarship offer and I prefer Columbia anyway. Barring a Chicago or Harvard acceptance (remote at this point) I think I am off to Columbia in the fall. And BC, where did you go?
4-24-09 Continuing my tradition of one acceptance/month I got in to BC today, big package via snailmail. I hope Harvard and U of C don't catch wind of this pattern and wait until the end of May and end of June... Anyway, a withdrawal from BC is imminent.
Later in the day: Email from harvard. Waitlist
Called chicago: i am "in the next batch to go to the admissions committee".
5-1-09 Decision Pending at U of Chicago. I am going to guess two weeks before I hear anything and even then it will be a waitlist/rejection. Those of you applying next cycle, I recommend that you apply to U of C before the end of Nov or not at all. Look at this year and last year and no one has been admitted who applied after the new year.
5-11-09 Got a letter from U of Chicago saying I am on the wait list. Not a big surprise. I have withdrawn. So my cycle is pretty much over, but I will continue to ride out the Harvard wait list.
