Additional info & updates

Normally the date I state that the school "received" or "completed" my file is the date they sent notification via email or regular mail. However, it appears that some schools do not notify me when they received or completed my file. For these schools, the date they "received" my file is the date they sent a request for a law school report via LSAC.

All scholarship amounts are per year, unless otherwise noted.

11/27/07 - I received my first acceptance letter, from Pitt. I am so relieved! It is good to receive an acceptance letter this early, I was not expecting decision letters until mid to late December at the earliest. The letter came in a regular sized envelope, though it was quite thick (I am told thick envelopes normally mean acceptance while thin letters normally mean you have been denied or wait listed).

12/10/07 - I was accepted to U of Cincy via email today. I will be receiving the actual letter in the next few days. So far, this admission cycle is going pretty well. Then again, lets see if I still think that once I receive decisions from some of the more selective schools (not that Pitt or Cincy are not good schools).

12/14/07 - The actual acceptance letter from Cincy arrived today in a rather large envelope.

12/18/07 - Received acceptance to Temple in an over-sized envelope containing a folder with the acceptance letter, scholarship letter and other info. It should be noted that the scholarship is non-renewable.

12/18/07 - When I arrived home today for Winter Break I found a law school acceptance letter waiting for me. It was from Penn State and was in a regular envelope. The envelope was quite thin because it contained only a single piece of paper. Two acceptance letters in one day, wow!

12/24/07 - Today I received an acceptance from SUNY-Buffalo. It was a folder (much like Temple's) in an oversized envelope.

1/14/08 - I arrived back at my dorm today and was greeted by two decision letters: an acceptance letter from Wisconsin (dated Jan. 7) and a rejection letter from Ohio State (dated Dec 21). Both letters came in regular-sized envelopes that were quite thin. My first rejection letter, what an experience!

1/21/08 - Today I received an award letter from UC. It came a little later than I expected it to. The scholarship amount would decline as I progress through schooling. The first year I would receive $15,000, while the second and third year I would receive $10,000.

02/07/08 - Quite a while since I last received an acceptance letter. Today, I received an acceptance to Case Western Reserve via email. The email said that a formal acceptance letter will arrive in a few days. Now the only applications that are still pending are the ones the really selective schools (gulp!).

03/05/08 - Today I received a scholarship notification from Case via email. It was a bit less than I would have liked but perhaps I should not be so greedy.

04/01/08 - Quite a long time since I last received an application decision. I was rejected from Emory, my first choice. The decision arrive via mail in a regular sized envelope that was quite thin.

04/08/08 - Not a good day. I have received rejection letters from W&L and WUSL. Like the Emory rejection, they both arrived in regular-sized envelopes that were thin. Thus ends this admissions cycle.
