You should apply to Harvard and yale. You've obviously got a unique story to tell. Let them take a look at it. It might be a cliche, but all they can say is no.

Tempting

I was tempted to apply at all of HYS, but I figured I could only afford one lottery ticket at $100 bucks a pop, so I spent it on Stanford. I've been thinking more about Harvard though. I wonder if, with their large incoming class, they can afford to absorb a crappy gpa better than some schools.

HYS=solid investment

they don't average the incoming GPAs, so admitting a relatively low GPA only hurts their percentile ranges, which are not used to calculate their USNEWS ranking. I'd go for it if I were you.

Seconded!

I think you should apply to Harvard as well. $100 IS a steep price to pay but you have a lot of softs going for you (URM, Non-Traditional, extensive work experience, interesting background) and a wonderful LSAT score. As you said, it is a lottery of sorts but you can't win if you don't play. I hope you have a wonderful cycle. :)

Harvard. Do it. You have fantastic softs. YOLO.

My wife likes the way y'all think, so I guess I'll be throwing my hat in Harvard's ring.

Congrats on your success! Any info on your approach to such a stellar LSAT score? Was this close to your initial timed diagnostic?

I still think you might sneak into H/S. With a GPA as low as yours, a couple dings are inevitable. You only need one of them to buy what you're selling. Keep hope alive!

Not surprised...

by getting dinged, only that I haven't been dinged by more schools already. "You only need one" has been the mantra from the beginning, so I haven't lost hope (yet). Thanks for the encouragement. It's been a true delight watching you kill it this cycle!

Really hoping for you man.
