Additional info & updates

So I retook the LSAT in Feb. I was pretty upset with my score but I decided to apply anyways. Needless to say I applied late in the cycle.

I have three disciplinary actions from college. Not sure how this will affect me. I heard it doesn't too much. I have doubts. I know a few schools are above my numbers, but oh well.

3/19- First response from a school. Rejection from Penn State. Not really surprised due to my LSAT score, but I am curious if it's due to my disciplinary record. This is an encouraging way to begin the cycle. Yay.

3/24- On hold at Miami which I am in shock about. I figured I'd be straight out rejected. I know it's a small chance but It's encouraging to think the disciplinary actions didn't automatically reject me! The hold letter encouraged me to send more information so I am going to get to work on that!

4/03 Rejected at American University. I am so shocked lol.It wasn't even my idea to apply there so I don't care. It's taking forever though with the schools I actually have a shot at. Ugh.

4/5 Waitlisted at Campbell. I'm disappointed because it was kind of high on my list, and I still can't say I am going to law school yet, as I have no acceptances thus far. This is not looking good.

4/7 My first acceptance! I'm going to law school! Mercer via
status checker! :)

4/9 In at Loyola New Orleans! Via status checker. I'm super excited about this one. They have a really good
international studies program and great study abroad
opportunities! It said the decision was made on the seventh but it wasn't up until today.

4/12 Acceptance letter from Mercer. Just a small white envelope with a short letter congratulating me no packet on the school or anything. I was scared for a second!

4/17 In at Syracuse. A nice package came through priority mail. The letter said the decision was made 4/14. They personalized the letter mentioning my undergraduate work and volunteer experience (they really do read personal essays! lol) Very nice.

4/19 Letter from Duquesne and Loyola. No scholarship from Loyola which I am a tiny bit surprised at. I saw other non-URMs get a scholarship with similar numbers. Maybe because I am from Florida? Maybe because it is so late in the cycle? Maybe LSAT scores went up? Hmmm. . .

4/22 Whoa so I got an e-mail from FIU that established a status checker. I was wondering if I'd ever hear from them. No luck though. It only says file complete 3/16. Wow.

4/28 Received an email from the LBGT association and Hispanic Bar association congratulating me on my acceptance to Stetson! I am confused because I am not Hispanic or lgbt but I'm so happy to be accepted! I haven't even received my packet in the mail yet lol. Definitely the weirdest way to receive an acceptance! So I will be withdrawing from Loyola and Syracuse.

4/29 Received my official acceptance package from Stetson today! I'm going! My first choice! My very successful cycle is complete. :D I'm so excited!

Thanks, you too. As far as my top picks, I'm kind of on the fence - maybe Rutgers Newark? However Syracuse was pretty high on my list and I just got in this weekend, so I'm pretty excited about that. As far as your disciplinary actions, I really wouldn't worry too much... I too have some blemishes on my record and it doesn't seem to have been a huge deal so far. Good luck with Stetson though - your softs seem solid and it sounds like you have a great shot.

Glad to do so! After the Idaho and Gonzaga rejections, I thought I was done.

I applied to Stetson mid November, the status checker said committee review from around the 20th of December to the 20th of January. Then it switched to decision sent and I received the packet in the mail. So, yes it does take them a while to decide, but it's hard to know what will happen in your case since it is late in the cycle. Good luck!

Yeah that could very well be the case. I was pretty shocked especially when people with lower numbers are getting accepted. I don't think I could make that promise because their tuition is so high. I was hoping to get a scholarship because my LSAT is near their 75% but that won't happen coming off the waitlist. TJ gave me 18,000 a year and a spot in their IP fellowship program which is becoming more appealing by the day. Good luck with Miami!!! I know waitlists are horrible. I am such a planner and this not being able to make decisions and figure stuff out is driving me crazy!! Hopefully everything will work out for the best!!

Congrats on the Stetson acceptance. I don't know if they are your first choice, but they are mine...well except for Baylor's spring admission (highly unlikely). Anyway, did you receive your letter today? I'm asking because my status just changed to decision rendered, letter sent 4/28.

WOW..that's a hilarious way to find out. I would love to know if I'm accepted..any way possible. I see you are from Florida and don't have your packet, so it's improbable that I will find out before Friday.
