Additional info & updates

1/30- first ding at Berkeley. Was kind of expecting to be rejected there, but it is somewhat depressing given it was my super first choice reach school dream. Letter arrived snail mail.

2/4-Not having heard from all but one of my schools has caused me to panic a little. I applied to a few more in the last few days. Probably just throwing my money away. I can't stand the not knowing! . . . although now I am only chosing schools that cost nothing to apply to. So I only have to pay the CAS fee of 16 bucks.

2/5-First acceptance today! Chapman is the last resort for me, but at least I can relax that I will be going somewhere. Letter arrived snail mail.

2/7-Waitlisted at george mason...bummer (but still a glimmer of hope). letter came via snail mail today. I have sent a LOCI to the school...need to do all that is within my power to improve my odds this fall, ya dig?

2/7-University of San Diego finally shows my application to be complete. I wonder if it is a bad sign that a school takes so long with a particular application. I am originally from San Diego and this is a school of interest for me.

2/7-Just recieved an email ding from University of Minnesota Law school. Sigh, this cycle is not off to a good start for me, but to be honest the school was a reach school as well. I hope to start getting some good news soon.

2/9--another rejection from UT Ausitn. No surprise there, but still I can use some good news about now. Washington and Lee have made a decision and will be emiling me later tody. (waitlisted lol)

2/10--American emailed me my rejection. sad face. haha

2/10--accepted to Seton Hall! snail mail.

2/14- decision mailed for Baylor summer semester. Now hurry up usps!

2/17--Indiana Bloomington waitlisted me by email...good school so I am not terribly disapointed that I still have a chance, albeit a slim one. LOCI sent.

2/23--Accepted to Baylor via snail mail. THis is for the summer semester. I have a fall semester pending as well. They require a deposit for 500 bucks on feb 29...still debating if I should pay it to hedge my bets or risk not paying to see what else comes along.

2/24--waitlisted at Loyola chicago via email. Rejected at Loyola los angelas via snail mail.

3/01--the deposit deadline for the Summer quarter for Baylor is today (500 big ones). I am pretty sure, barring any last minute break down, that I am not going to pay it. From everything I hve read about the school, I don't think I would enjoy it, it is expensive, and the job prospects are better elsewhere.

Incidentally, I had an interview with the Dean of admissions at W&L regarding my waitlisted application. I felt that it went well. Yesterday I received a handwritten card from him. But the funny thing is that I literlly cannot read one word. Has to be the worst handwriting ever as it makes the stereotypical Dr. penmanship seem great. I expect the card was the standard, "I am glad we had an interview. Let me know if I can provide more assistance," but I can't be certain! LOL I hope it wasn't anything important. He was a really nice and imformative guy on the phone though.

Some people are a bit obnoxious about this. You paid for your applications, you have the right to know whether you get in or not. Besides, even if you get in at a place that you'd like to go to, that doesn't mean that you won't get a better offer somewhere else. Anyway, hang in there. Unfortunately, this process isn't always what we'd like it to be. I've seen people give up, then get in off of the WL to a school they wanted to go to some time in June. It sucks to have to wait that long, but this is what it is, a game.
