I was looking at lawschoolpredictor.com today and realized that it was a little off for me. I guess my application was looked at as a whole. Here is was i found

School - lsp prediction - %at or below - actual decision

1. UM - Weak Consider - 28% - Waitlisted
2. LSU - Deny - 30% - Accepted
3. Pitt - Deny - 20% - Waitlisted
4. FSU - Deny - 8% - Deny
5. Marquette - Weak Consider - 37% - Accepted
6. Hofstra - Consider - 51% - Accepted
7. Michigan State - Consider - 51% - Waitlisted
8. Stetson - Consider - 56% - Waitlisted
9. Syracuse - Consider - 51% - Accepted.
10. Maine - Weak Consider - 36% - Accepted
11. Georgia State - Deny - 16% - Deny
12. Penn State - Deny - 28% - Deny

Looking at this makes me even more happy with LSU, Marquette, and Pitt. It also, in my opinion, shows that some of the schools do look at more than just the numbers sometimes.

A few more LSP Predictoins of schools i would really like to get into:

1. South Carolina - Weak Consider - 28% - Pending
2. St. Louis - Weak Consider - 29% Pending
3. University of Mississippi - Deny - 23% - Pending (Surprising to me, I consider this one a pretty good target school)

Additional info & updates

4/23/10 - I was accepted off the waitlist at UM today. I don't plan on attending.

4/1/2010 - Wait listed at Ole Miss. Don't really care

Money is in at LSU. I will be withdrawing all but a few apps on Monday. Shoot me a message if you are going to LSU too!

3/15/10 - Waitlisted at SLU. I wont be accepting the spot on the list.

Well, I only have a few more schools left to hear from. I really only care to hear from Ole Miss and South Carolina. I will be withdrawing from a few schools next week. Probably Indiana, suffolk, Stetson, Michigan State, Mercer, and Maine.

2/25/10 - Gor rejected from South Carolina today. I will be sending in my seat deposit for LSU tomorrow. This rejection made up my mind completely.

2/12/10 - Got an e-mail from Penn State today with a rejection. Kinda mad about this one as it would have been a very nice option to have.

2/8/10 - Got an acceptance from Indiana. I have basically decided against going there and will probably withdraw my app next week along with a few others.

2/4/10 - Just received a 6,048 dollar a year scholarship from LSU! I am beyond excited. My mind is basically made up unless i get a full ride from south carolina. And i have to stay in the top 67% of my class.

2/2/10 - Got a scholarship letter from Hofstra today. 20k a year renewable as long as im an in the top 40%.

2/1/10 - Got Rejected from Georgia State today. Not a huge surprise.

1/27/10 - Admitted to Samford via Status checker! Hopefully it will come with some scholarship money.

1/19/10 - Today was an AWESOME day. I got three acceptances , LSU, Syracuse, and University of Maine. LSU is a top choice of mine so i am extremely excited!

1/9/10 - Well i just got a scholarship letter in the mail from Suffolk and they are giving me $30,000 a year. 90k total. I was shocked when i opened it. It is renewable with a 3.0 every year.

1/7/10 - Got an acceptance e-mail from Hofstra today! First decision of the new year is a good one!

12/09/09 - Rejected at FSU. No surprise there. Sucks my Alma Mater doesnt want me lol. I was hoping for a wait list but its ok. 4 years in Tallahassee is enough for a life time.

12/8/09 - Wait listed at Pitt. Not too upset about this, i thought i was going to be flat out rejected. I got an e-mail from them today and it said that in years past about 10-25% of people get accepted off the wait list.

12/7/09 - Got a letter from Michigan State today saying they reviewed my application and could not make a decision yet so they are going to re-review it in February. The letter says i will have a decision by feb 21st, so at least i have a date on it. Not good news but not bad news, i feel like i have a pretty good chance to get in there. I put it as a waitlist.

12/4/09 - Georgia state just sent me ANOTHER email stating that my application is and a link to the status checker. Hopefully this means that they are starting to look at the applications.

12/4/2009 - FSU status checker says decision made and i will receive it in the mail. Hoping for the best on this one.

12/04/2009 - In at Nova via Email. Pretty happy about that, its a good option for me considering its about 30 minutes from my house.

12/3/2009 - Got a fee waiver from the University of Maine, so I applied there today.

12/3/2009 - Waitlisted at Stetson. Not too happy about this. Now waitlisted at 2 of my top choices.

11/30/09 - Called Stetson today to ask them if they could tell me the decision, she said she didnt have it in her computer but she did say that the letters should be going out today or tomorrow.

-11/25/09 - Received an email today from Samford with a fee waiver, so I will be applying there after the holiday.

-11/24/09 - It says on my Stetson status checker - "Decision made on file." Why cant it just say the decision on there?!?!? Now i will nervously wait for this one.

-11/22/09 - Just got e-mails for status checkers at penn state and hofstra. Also got an email from Pitt saying my file is now under review.

-11/21/09 - Got a whole acceptance package from Suffolk today!

-11/19/09 - My application was put on hold at the University of Miami. Pretty bummed about that, it was a top choice of mine.

-Just called Miami to ask them about their online status checker and she said that a decision has been made for me and I should get it this week or next in the mail. I couldnt get anything out of her.

-11/16/09 Just got an acceptance letter from Marquette via snail mail!

-Just received a fee waiver from San Diego so i figured i would apply.

- Status checkers say in review at both Nova and Stetson, so hopefully i will be getting those decisions soon.

- I called Miami to ask them about my application since a few people on here got decision letters already and they told me my application is "pending further review."

Congrats on John Marshall! How did they notify you?

Friday, December 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

Are the scholarship amounts per year or total?

Friday, December 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

For sure, good luck to ya!

Tuesday, October 20 2009 at 08:00 PM

we have similar numbers... when did you receive your SD fee waiver?

Congrats
Sunday, October 25 2009 at 08:00 PM

on your acceptances so far. Are you applying for fall or spring admission? Good luck with the cycle.

John Marshall
Wednesday, December 31 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptances. I got the same status from John Marshall. I was thinking that it may be a no. Did it tell you not to contact the school for the decision to wait for the letter?

Saturday, November 14 2009 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptances so far! You and I have extremely close numbers and are applying to so of the same schools, so I'll definitely be watching your progress. Best of luck!

I was put on hold today at Miami too. I suppose its better than a rejection, but it still sucks. Here's hoping it works out in our favor.

Michigan State
Saturday, November 14 2009 at 07:00 PM

That's so weird about Michigan State. It looks like some people already received acceptances! I wonder what that's about.

Saturday, November 14 2009 at 07:00 PM

Interesting...well, that's good to know! Good luck to you too!!! :-)

Thursday, September 24 2009 at 08:00 PM

Great job on Suffolk and Marquette! Marquette is a choice of mine too! How did you get the $18K from John Marshall Chi?

Suffolk
Saturday, November 14 2009 at 07:00 PM

Good job getting in to Suffolk! How did you find out about your acceptance? Snail mail?

Congrats!
Tuesday, November 10 2009 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Suffolk! When did you go complete?

Good Luck!
Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

I did my undergrad at Ole Miss. I loved it, but it is not a top choice for me. Just need a change. South Carolina is my top choice. Really hard to say after that, but I also like the idea of Louisville, West VA, & Catholic. I'd love to attend the U, but it is just too expensive so I am not sure if I will even apply! Saw you got WLed there; I think you get in for sure.

Marquette
Wednesday, December 17 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hey! Congrats on Marquette! That's awesome! Keep up the good word friend!

congrats
Tuesday, November 10 2009 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Marquette! When did you submit your application, and when did you hear? We have applied to a lot of the same schools. Do you think you will get into Michigan?

Thursday, November 06 2008 at 07:00 PM

i got a phone call from MSU

Stetson
Thursday, October 29 2009 at 08:00 PM

I emailed because my status checker indicated something other than the two options they said it would say, and they emailed me back that I would be happy when I received my letter. So I took that to mean good things. I guess I may have jumped the gun, but I can't think of why else they would have said that to me. Good luck!

Stetson
Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

I'm really surprised you got waitlisted @ Stetson. Your numbers seem great for Stetson. Looks like it is a tougher cycle after all.

Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

How did you like S. Carolina law? I've heard bad things about the facilities, but the school is great and the location cannot be beat. Would love to attend, but it doesn't look very good I'm afraid. Just applied to Ole Miss - how does it rank for you? I still live in Oxford so if you have any questions let me know.

Nova conditional
Saturday, September 12 2009 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the Nova suggestion, but what I hear about the conditional program is its basically just a money-maker for them. It was a conscious decision to avoid Nova. Congrats on the acceptances so far, and good luck with the rest of your cycle!

unpredictable
Wednesday, December 17 2008 at 07:00 PM

It's definitely going to be an unpredictable cycle. The only thing that is safe to say is if you are a URM law school admissions add about 8 points to your LSAT score. It's sickening. oh well. White male = much harder path to getting into law school. Hope you have a good holiday break.

Tuesday, November 10 2009 at 07:00 PM

I'm the one who got acceptances everywhere, but waitlisted at Valpo. To answer your question: I judge schools on three criteria: 1. cost, 2. academics, and 3. living conditions (I have a family). Stetson is currently ahead of all other floridian schools in all areas except the most important at this point: cost.

Hofstra
Wednesday, December 16 2009 at 07:00 PM

Thanks! The scholarship info came in the acceptance packet on a letter separate from the letter saying I was admitted. The scholarship letter also says what the terms for keeping the scholarship are.

Congrats
Sunday, January 03 2010 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on the Suffolk scholarship. Your numbers are nearly identical to mine so I am very interested to see your acceptances. I am applying PT Suffolk so I would be surprised if I manage to land a scholarship like you and Ladyluck

Hey
Sunday, January 03 2010 at 07:00 PM

Suffolk is one of only two PT programs in my area. My hope is Suffolk and possibly a scholarship. However, I hear they don't have much to offer. I looked at the ABA data and found that 46% of full time students get some type of grant while less than half that in the part time receive them.

LSU
Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on LSU!

USC
Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

Yeah, I have a bad feeling about USC. I feel a waitlist coming on that will not be kind although I think you have a very good chance. Would you take USC over LSU?

Re:
Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

Yep, that it does. I'm super pumped. I think GA State would be a good deal as well, especially if you could get in state after 1L. I have heard that you can't get in-state at USC for your 2nd or 3rd year but I'm not sure if I believe that. That would be a hefty price tag if that is the case.

Thanks!
Saturday, October 24 2009 at 08:00 PM

Thank you, you too! Best of luck with the rest of the schools you applied to.

USC
Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

That's a relief. Let's hope we both get in. USC just gives you so many great cities to live in, or at least I like to think so.

Monday, October 12 2009 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptances so far as well! Looks like your cycle is off to a good start.. Seems as though choosing is going to be tough - its getting there for me too

Yep
Wednesday, December 17 2008 at 07:00 PM

I sent KU a letter of continued interest and I am sending Miami and Marquette today. I hope I get in! ! !

LSU
Tuesday, April 28 2009 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on LSU, I visited last year and it's a great facility/atmosphere.

LSU
Tuesday, April 28 2009 at 08:00 PM

Tennessee is probably my top choice, but Kansas is really making a push with this scholarship. Is LSU your absolute #1?

suffolk
Monday, February 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

congrats on the Suffolk - that's a very generous offer. I'm virtually set on St Thomas unless I get similar $$$ from WNEC. are you close to making a decision?

OM & USC
Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

Yeah, I really do not get Ole Miss. My LSAT is at their 75th percentile, I'm a resident who lives about a mile from the LS & yours is over their 75th. As for USC, I'm just waiting on the rejection. I think you got yours earlier than mine because you applied so much earlier. Mine should come any day now.

Called
Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

Called OM today...no answer. Left a message and nothing yet. This lack of communication is really irritating me since I am trying to finalize decisions.

Agreed
Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

Their lack of caring to even give decisions to all applicants is a huge turn off. If this is any reflection of how they care about their students, I'm less than impressed. Might still consider them for convenience & cost, but this makes my decision much more difficult. I'd still be very surprised if we were not admitted.

LSU
Friday, December 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congrats! Good Chance we'll be together in the fall.

Wow
Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

Gotta say I am pretty surprised especially since you have virtually the same numbers that another out of stater had. I thought Memphis had the slowest, most unorganized admissions office, but OM definitely takes the cake. LSU will be more fun anyway.

Yes I'll be at ASD
Friday, December 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

I'm also going to sit in on a class Friday.

Update
Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

I got into Ole Miss yesterday. I guess being a resident really helps! Now to decide OM vs. U of L.

you'll love LSU
Monday, March 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

thanks, congrats to you too! I think I'll be at LSU in the fall. I get in state tuition, and that's hard to pass up. Plus, I really love Baton Rouge and the campus is beautiful. Have you visited yet?

places to live
Monday, March 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

I know The Venue at North Gates is about $820 for 1 bdr. also, Southgate Towers, Campus Crossings, Highland Village, and Sterling University Housing. You should check them out while you're in town!

UM law
Wednesday, February 03 2010 at 07:00 PM

How did University of Miami notify you of admission from the waitlist? Thanks

LSU
Friday, October 02 2009 at 08:00 PM

You still Baton Rouge bound?
