Additional info & updates

12-12-05:Albany acceptence in large envelope with large folder.
12-19-05:Deferred at WashU. (Don't expect to be accepted anyways)
12-23-05:Recieved December LSAT score - exactly the same. Very disappointed.
1-13-06:Recieved full tuition scholarship from Albany $$$
1-13-06:Defered at UMinn (Another far reach)
1-23-06:First rejection from Depaul
1-24-06:Suffolk acceptence in small white envelope
2-2-06:Howard and St. Louis waitlisted
2-2-06:Catholic and UMinn rejection
2-2-06:NESL acceptance in large white folder
2-6-06:NYLS and Seton Hall rejections
2-6-06:Defered at Rutgers Newark
2-8-06:Another rejection - this time from Loyola Chicago
2-9-06:WNEC acceptance through phone call
2-10-06:Another hold! This time from Creighton- damn you!
2-13-06:Ding! This time from American. Now, I am officially shut out from DC. Well it was nice knowing you DC.
2-13-06:Got a T-Shirt from Hofstra and letter - that says "Congratulations ONCE AGAIN". I honestly do not know when they sent me the original letter. Nevertheless, got accepted to my first T2 school. Yehhh!!
2-14-06:Valentine's Day present from Chicago-Kent - Ding!
2-20-06: More Waitlists - Syracuse & Penn State (Reject me already!)
2-20-06: Franklin Pierce acceptance - nice note on the letter.
2-23-06: Pace acceptance came via FedEx. Nice big/flashy folder with scholarship info. Nothing offered yet.
3-29-06:St. John's rejection, but $$ from Suffolk
4-19-06: Case puts me on hold, Santa Clara rejects me.
4-24-06: Howard acceptance
4-26-06: Rutgers-Newark waitlisted
4-27-06: UDM acceptance

Realizing that I might have applied to too many reach schools. I guess I applied to them when I was getting 160s on my LSATs. I can not believe I blew both of my LSATs that bad.

With all of my rejections, I think I am beginning to see the humor in it. Nevertheless, I am going somewhere for law school and I have a few choices.

Albany Law

Lol they might be. I was curious to know how the full scholarhsip from Albany is going to impact your decision making? It's making mine a bit difficult becuase the full ride is really really tempting since I got into 2 schools ranked above Albany but didn't get any $ from them (yet). Have you visted Albany Law...was it was one your top choices?

what's your opinion of NESL? have you heard anything about them good or bad? have they alluded to any financial aid offers?

one more thing... i've been scouting out apartment rates in boston, and it seems that the going rate is $1000-$1500 for a one bedroom. Have you looked into this, and if so does this sound right? Looks like room/board will be more than tuition.

Congrats!

It must be great knowing that this part of the process is over! Good luck with your decision! Any ideas yet? Your input would be great since we applied to a few of the same schools!

LS is weird!

It is so funny how these things work out! We applied to many of the same schools and had near-opposite decisions at a few of them, despite our very close numbers! Hopefully this won't extend to Suffolk. I know how you feel with the lsat, I got the exact same score twice as well, idk what is up with the 152s. Anyway, good luck on the rest of your apps!

NESL and Suffolk
Thursday, February 02 2006 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptances! We've got some similarities. Even with work experiance. Do you have a top school? I applied to NESL and Suffolk tonight after recieving my rejection from DePaul. Hope I'm not too late. Do you remember how long those two took to let you know? Thanks.

Albany

I feel the same way about Albany! One WL I was def. not expecting (and funny since you got a full ride). Just goes to show you how weird this whole process is. Don't worry about NYLS, you're right, Albany is WAY more affordable (even without your AMAZING package). That would be very hard to turn down. Can't wait to see who you hear from next, I'm guessing we applied to more of the same schools! Good luck! :)

URM
Wednesday, November 30 2005 at 07:00 PM

I am really not sure. I listed both, as I noted in LSN. Some schools have sent me info. on URM scholarships, but I have heard that if you mark both they just consider you white (which i would guess by some of the rejections/WLs I have). I have a very diverse background, so I am not sure how much that comes into play, but I did address things like that in my ps and other statements. Sorry I can't offer more insight!

I'm just curious to know if you've decided on Albany? I'm still waiting to see if Buffalo and Syracuse give me any money. Are you going to the open house on Saturday?

I'm a bit closer. It's been between 'Cuse/Albany/UB but I am almost completely sure that I will not be going to 'Cuse. You? Have you visited Albany yet?

On the full scholarship and acceptance at Albany! Such a nice place to live. I LOVE upstate NY, I was going to apply to Albany, but waited too long. Are you going to withdraw from your waitlists?

Congratulations on your acceptance. I was surprised to see they are already pulling applicants from the waitlist. Can I ask what you did after you found out you were waitlisted to keep yourself viable?

Congratulations on all of your many acceptances! I recently found out that I am waitlisted for Howard. What did you do, if anything, to get an acceptance?
