Additional info & updates

5/2 -- Done. Staying on the waitlists, but it'll take some aid to sway me except maybe for Harvard.

4/17 -- Dean's Scholarship at Cornell...what to do, what to do...

4/3 -- Waitlist e-mail from Duke, withdrawn. Will withdraw Fordham, GW, and UVa by the end of the week.

3/29 -- In at Cornell after interview last week. Yale hopes dashed, rejection letter in campus mailbox.

3/27 -- Received Gtown rejection at home address, instead of campus.

3/23 -- Visited Penn...on 3.5 hours of sleep and a bad cold, I still managed to enjoy it, so I'll most likely end up here. It helps that I was awarded the James Wilson Scholarship a few days before my trip.

3/2 -- Waitlisted via e-mail from Michigan...I'm faced with a tough decision: should I bother and waste 39 cents to send them a withdrawal form or just wait for the two week deadline to pass, at which point I'll be sunbathing in the Bahamas?

2/17 -- Received Penn acceptance portfolio full of everything you could imagine, including free faculty book offer, awesome.

2/14 -- Phone cal from Penn! Great Valentine's gift...acceptance package will be in the mail

2/8 -- Just got a "Thank you for your patience/Deferred" e-mail from UMich...funny how one # 8 school can accept you in two weeks while another could take over 5 months.

2/6 -- Hold letter from Columbia. Better than a waitlist? Your guess is as good as mine. They asked for additional info, but I had my updated trascript sent a couple of days before the hold, so maybe that'll help when they get around to reviewing it again.

2/5 -- This wait sucks. In other news, Cornell sent me a fee and application deadline, waiver so why not? Maybe I'll get some money or leverage...

1/24 -- Got UVa accceptance in the mail. Also got an e-mail from GWU awarding me a Presidential Merit Scholarship, (Full ride plus first year housing) Wow! This is going to make it difficult to pass up...

1/19 -- Status checker went to Decision. Now waiting on the UVa decision to arrive in the mail, hopefully up at school.

1/17 -- Less than an hour after the Fordham e-mail I got a call from GW's dean. I was speechless. I had e-mailed them to ask about my file since I never went complete, and she said that it indeed had, and that I was in! Didn't expect two acceptances that close together that quickly.

1/17 -- Got an e-mail acceptance from Fordham, who hadn't bothered updating my ststus checker since Jan 2nd. But anyways, my first acceptance!! So at least I'm going somewhere...

Applied in basically two waves...due to underpar performance on my first lsat...

you (just a touch!) about going to a 'top ivy' school. I giggle because some people say they went to a 'lesser ivy' and it inevitably means Cornell. Yeah, and you can/definitely will get into much better schools that Cornell.

Cornell Dean's Scholaship

Hey, did Cornell notify you about the Dean's scholarship by e-mail or was it part of the financial aid letter?

Cornell Scholarship

Thanks. That info definitely helps. I ask because I just received an e-mail telling me that I was under consideration for a scholarship and that was why I hadn't received any word on financial aid. They said they would release my letter shortly, so I just wanted to know whether to expect an email or a letter.
