Additional info & updates

Minors in both ethics and women's/gender studies.

Since I had decided early that UConn was the right school for me and knew that my numbers did not guarantee me acceptance, I made sure to pay special attention and tailor my application for that school.

3 strong LORs
- one from my volunteer supervisor
- two from college professors (philosophy and psychology)
- I made sure to ask that my LORs emphasize the skills I possess that I knew UConn was looking for (collaboration, initiative...etc)
- Each recommender wrote me two separate letters: one set of specific LORs for UConn and another set for all other schools

I wrote a strong personal statement discussing the reasons for my interest in civil rights law and customized each essay for every school. Made sure that my UConn statement made it clear that the school was my top choice.

Hey Good luck as well! Boulder waitlisted me although I wasn't surprised lol. If DU accepts you and you are thinking about going be sure to call and try to snag some scholarship $$$ :)

I can't wait to get the hell out of CO!!! I applied to upon but honestly by time they get back to me I will probably have made my final decision. I'm doing all my school visits in the next two weeks. I don't want to pay too many deposits and waste money I won't get back. :( Iowa is my #1, I contacted the asst dean about them throwing me some $$$. So we'll see fingers crossed! What about Oregon? I heard it's a pretty good school.

Thank you! You had a good cycle as well. I hope you enjoy UConn and maybe I'll run into out east.

Did you tell upon to throw you so more cash?!?! I finally got my letter from them. Have you visited yet?

Ugh no. I thought I was settled on Iowa. But Cornell asked me to interview and then WL me. Which I know isn't promising, but I'm going to visit after graduation and see how I feel. Their first deposit was may 1 and their second deposit is June 1 so I should know relatively soon about Cornell. Iowa STILL hasn't offered me a scholarship :( I'm going to ask again. They already accepted my, my advisor says it can't hurt to just ask again. I hope UConn offers you more. You can have what they offered me lol

Just wondering, was UConn's scholarship total or per year? Congrats on your decision and have fun there! :)
