02/18/10 - I received the faculty review notice from UC Berkeley! Here's hoping!

02/19/10 - Columbia finally notified me that my application was complete. 1 month and 1 day after I submitted everything in its entirety.

02/22/10 - Received offer of admission from Lewis & Clark. Unfortunately, I didn't receive a sholarship offer, but I am hoping that changes by late April since I am extremely interested in attending.

02/24/10 - Offer of admission from Brooklyn. Waitlisted by U of VA.

03/01/10 - Offer of admission from Temple and a waitlist from U of MN.

03/02/10 - Amazing scholarship from Brooklyn. So excited!

03/05/10 - Didnt get into Georgetown, but I was quite sure I wouldn't, so the first rejection didn't sting too badly. I was also waitlisted at BU, which is sort of surprising since they KEPT sending me packets and notes to apply.

03/06/10 - Got a scholarship package from Temple, and requested that they augment their offer since I got a $30k per year offer from a higher ranked school. Also contacted other schools regarding scholarship offers.

03/11/10 - After a very quiet week, I was waitlisted at Berkeley. While I am going to do my best to wait it out, I am saddened at not being able to send my mom a Berkeley pennant for her office and Berkeley Mom t-shirt. I have a drive to do very important work and genuinely feel that UCB is where I need to be to do it. The waitlist rank will be released 5/1, so here is to hoping that I am in the first quartile and that other applicants decide to go elsewhere. And hey, at least it wasn't an outright no!

03/12/10 - In at UF via snail mail. Yay for the option to move back to Florida and be near family.

03/18/10 - Waitlisted at Emory, but the great news is that Temple increased their offer from $12k to
$15k!

03/22/10 - At Brooklyn's admitted students day. :)

03/25/10 - Went to GW's AS reception, which was mega fancy and motivational. They quickly moved up to my most likely prospect.

04/06/10 - Admitted to UC Davis and extremely excited about it. Unfortunately cannot make ASW on such short notice but will be making a trip in a couple weeks. Also attending GW's admitted students day on Friday.

04/11/10 - GW's admitted students day was awesome and informative. The campus is absolutely beautiful, and overall, I had a good feeling about it. I do wish, however, that they would throw some money my way so that I could have a sense of what I'm looking at financially.

Also, Cornell has rendered a decision. I'm not especially optimistic, but a yes would be fantastic. Now to wait on the USPS...

04/12/10 - A no from Cornell and $70k in loans for my first year from GW. Don't know which one hurts the most. I booked my trip to go visit Davis and Berkeley at the end of next week. Maybe Berkeley will move me off of their wailist by the end of July. I have no reservations in a huge loan if it's to be a Bear!

Hey can you help me out? What does it mean to augment your offer? Does that mean you can ask a school for more money if you feel you are deserving? And how I would go about doing that? I was hoping for more money from of the schools I was accepted at. Thanks!

do you want to do environmental law by chance? we applied to a lot of the same schools, and that's how i chose mine. perhaps you did, too?
