I've had some good summer internships and other experiences during undergrad. Nothing way over the top. I've mainly worked part-time all through undergrad.

Additional info & updates

I'm totally undecided on where I want to go to law school. After I apply I'll take a hard look at each of my options. Seriously though, no idea.

11/14/09- In at Duke! Nice to get the first one, if only to let my interrogators know I've been accepted somewhere.

1/4/10- I've received a few more acceptances. The scholarship at UT is nice, but I'm still amazed that they charge $43K/year for out of state students.

I got a call recently from Dean Schwartz letting me know I'm in at UCLA. That's exciting because part of me would like to stay out west. However, not to sound ungrateful, but I was mildly dissapointed with the scholarship amount. There are several profiles on LSN with similar or lower numbers that were awarded $75K scholarships. I'm not sure $60K would persuade me to go to UCLA considering the dramatic tuition hikes forthcoming.

1/17/10- My status for Arizona was updated via the status checker on 1/7 to admitted. Still haven't received any other confirmation of the decision nor any scholarship information.

Still waiting to hear from some of these other schools!

1/19/10- Just got the hold email from Harvard. I'm taking it as a semi-positive sign. Anybody have tips on sending additional information to send?

1/20/10- Received packet from U of A in the mail. Very excited about the tuition scholarship. The offer is very attractive, but I still have to wait and see what this cycle holds.

2/1/10- I talked with Dean Hernandez from BYU. Urged me to consider each school's mission statement and values, pay attention to my impressions of each school, and to prayerfully consider the options before me. Accepted with "significant scholarship" which I'm guessing is $30,000.

2/4/10- I wish I had something to update here. But I don't. I've been under review at Penn, Chicago, UVA, and Michigan for quite some time.

2/5/10- Yea!!! In at Chicago via phone call. Best acceptance so far so it makes me happy.

2/19/10- In at Penn!

2/20/10- Finally got my folder from BYU along with scholarship info. It says full-tuition, which I believe is about 10K/year. The letter from Dean Hernandez was very personalized. Very thoughtful.

3/11/10- So I don't really understand the WLs at Michigan and Virginia other than to call it YP. I think a 168-170 on my LSAT would have given me a better chance for some odd reason. I'm not going to lose sleep over it, though. Never would've gone to Michigan and Virginia was just an after thought.

4/14/10- Decision time approaches. The new scholarship at Penn has really thrown me for a loop.

Yeah, the tuition hike is a big deterrence. I'm gonna have to ask about that. Congats on Duke!

Thanks. It is a nice offer. I'm not going to write them off quickly. We'll just have to see if any more acceptances come in and other financial aid offers. I worry about the doors that will be closed in politics and academia though.

Thanks for the condolences. I wouldn't use me as a predictor of how it will go for you though. There's some randomness in this whole thing. Where are you leaning?

Will do. We're actually visiting a few this week, so I'll let you know how it goes.

FYI, here's what Dean Schwartz told me about tuition hikes: Out of state-2010-11 50,000 2011-12 54,000 2012-13 59,000; in-state 2010-11 40,000 2011-12 44,000 2012-13 49,000. Pretty steep!

Yes, UVA was by far my #1 choice, so getting in w/$$ made my decision much easier.

Hey thanks for the message. I was considering BYU, but I think I'll be heading to Chicago. Where do you think you'll end up?
