Additional info & updates

I applied to so many schools because I was paranoid about not getting in anywhere. I was sufficiently scared by my advisors! I also didn't want to limit myself to one area of the country.

Right now, I'm mainly considering Wash U, Notre Dame, and Cornell. That will change if I end up getting into Penn. I was completely expecting to be rejected there flat out so I was relieved just to be in the running still. Chances are pretty good I'll end up Cornell at this point though!

Northwestern had been my top pick . . . not sure if I'm going to take the waitlist.

Seriously BC?

I love BU (lots of connections there) but I think it's time I leave Mass for a few years!

W/D at Northeastern, Case, UC-Hastings and American today (2/14)

2/14 Expressed interest in NW waitlist

2.14 Also W/D at Fordham and USC (can't handle LA)
Should be getting rejected from UVA and Penn any day now!

2/16 Officially rejected at UVA (just surprised it didn't happen sooner)

2/16 20k scholarship offer from BU! A complete surprise. :)

2/17 W/D at Emory

2/21 W/D at W&M

3/3: Waitlisted at Michigan (kind of relieved to at least have another decision out of the way!) Did fax form back to accept spot for now.

3/10: Berkeley rejection letter (very nice by the way!)

3/17: Withdrew from Wash U

3/20: 8k grant offer from GW (not good enough!0

3/21: W/D Wisconsin and GW

3/25: Penn denial in small envelope

DECISION MADE: I'm going to BU! :P The scholarship was too good to pass up!!
Withdrew from Duke since they haven't bothered to get back to me and I don't see myself living in the south!

My top 3 right now are Cornell, Wash U, and notre Dame. That might change if I get into Penn (Not too likely) A little surprised about BC . . .

We have very similar numbers and I was also rejected at BC. I share your frustration. Hopefully I'll stick it to them by being accepted at a school like Cornell, as you have. Hopefully...

I actually wasn't even considering them after they deferred me from EA. I was so close to sending them a letter asking that they take me out of their pool. Damn, I wish I had! :) I'm just not sure what they're doing. Oh well, we'll both be fine!

Congrats

Congrats on the scholarship from BU! when did you get it? We have almost the exact same numbers and I have been waiting to hear from them regarding scholarship info.

I think BC is hot this year. A lot of qualified people applied and they over-booked too early. Good luck with the deferrals

I was rejected from BC with a 171/3.34. They are rejecting a lot of good candidates. They may be trying to overtake BU. I believe they were ahead a few years ago...

Congrats! How did they notify? We're numbers twins, so this is a big issue for me in considering BU.

Forms at BU?

I'm sending in FAFSA this week. Is there anything else that they're expecting?

Im leaning towards BU, Hastings and Notre Dame, but Im not sure I still am waiting to hear from so many places. Where do you think youll end up?

Cornell

Let me know how your visit goes. After Friday I'm a little apprehensive. I spoke with someone at ND who picked ND over Cornell after visiting both and I haven't heard tons of good things about it. I would definitely pick Duke over ND, but I don't know about Cornell.

cornell & penn

Congrats! We have similar numbers and very similar acceptances so far (same scholarships from ND and WUSTL). I'm kicking myself for not applying to cornell now-- I know Ithica would be a bit cold and small-town, but it's a great school. And I echo your love of Penn... I would do just about anything to go there! Good luck!

cold...

Haha... it's true, I am from the mid-west, and EVERY winter I spend there I pray it will be the last! :) This year I'm in Dublin- so much more pleasant. I think I care more about being able to run outside all year long than just the general cold. I'm currently leaning toward USC. I really want Penn, followed closely by Duke and Michigan... but we shall see what happens. With basically no word from 8 schools, I'm still very much in limbo at the moment. I like USC's programs a lot better than those at ND and WUSTL, even though they're offering money. And the warmth and city factors lift it up a bit as well. Good luck with everything!!

USC
