Additional info & updates

04-13-07
scu acceptance, wisc waitlist (withdrawn), and georgetown rejection.
scu could be a top contender if some serious money was offered...but as of right now...its fordham v. hastings (if taken off the waitlist). btw, i loved san diego...but couldnt get past its drop on usnews along with its regional reach (now if they offered a free ride...i would say lets go usd!)

04-06-07
usf - waitlisted? uhm what...seriously? i went to undergrad there and my lsat is above and beyond their numbers...yield protection perhaps? eesh...i've lost some love for the dons.

03-31-07
loyola - big white envelope. visited this past weekend...and i must say i did NOT like the vibe. from the early frank gheary design to the overall stress level of the students...loyola does NOT seem like a happy place. its like the hastings of socal...

03-22-07
im at nyc right now for fordham's asw. its alright, but i dont know if the nyc hustle and bustle is for me (im a cali kid at heart).

hastings...waitlist...via email (commence loci, additional lor bombings).

03-16-07
USC ding. eh...SC football sucks anyways.

03-15-07
mmmm hawaii. big tan envelope.

03-07-07
berkeley, thin white envelope. DING. say bye bye to my dream school.

03-06-07
davis - flat out rejection. you suck. seriously must have been my gpa.

03-05-07
waitlisted. notre dame.

02-26-07
Chapman Legal Scholars award = renewable full scholarship. free trip to the OC for the ASW....hmmmmm.

1st rejection c/o U dub (boo! hisssss!)

2-24-07
20k non renewable scholarship received from usd.

2-23-07
uiuc...acceptance with a 15k scholarship. honestly...i dont know too much about the school. any info on uiuc and how well they place on the coasts would be much appreciated.

2-22-07
reasons why fordham kicks ass:
http://law.fordham.edu/facts/wom-home.ihtml

2-21-07
1 week drought...must...receive...decision...

2-16-07
what a nice week! 3 of 3 thus far. USD...no mention of scholarship money...yet.

gtown... why not? applied pt.

2-15-07
when it rains it pours....sweet sweet candy coated rain drops! in at fordham via email!

2-14-07
its about time! Southwestern - first acceptance via snail mail. with a 26500 renewable scholarship. glad to know someone loves me out there! happy valentines day yo!

2-7-07
seriously guys...its been a month and i havent heard a peep from you folks. its killing me. how about throwing me a freakin' bone. anything...anything!

2-6-07
minority students day invite from SCU...whooop (i went last year).

1-29-07
ok...little disheartened with USD. I've been looking on LSN all day and have noticed many profiles with similar numbers (and similar sent dates) are getting in with money. come on usd...dont let me down...ur one of my top choices!

01-18-07
3am. yup...i freaked out and applied to two more schools.

01.10.07
out of boredom, im going to predict the outcome of this cycle:
southwestern in w/$$
Chapman in w/ $$
USF in w/$
Santa Clara in or waitlist/in
USD in w/$
NOtre Dame waitlist...?
UI waitlist...?
LMU in or waitlist/in
UW rejected
UCH waitlisted/?
UCD waitlisted/rejected
UCLA/USC/BOALT rejected
fordham waitlisted/?

01.09.07: alright...im freaking obsessed with checking my email/lsn/toplawschool/lsd. anyone else have this problem? i should pick up a hobby or something to pass the time...

Should I add more to my list? im thinking diverse urban cities...

1st (151)
2nd (155)
final (166)

SOFT FACTORS/considerable hardships
1) First year of college was horrible. Went to a big school in the Southwest...nearly flunked out due to apathy and an inability to cope with the notion of having a learning disability (diagnosed with slight LD during the later part of my senior year of HS). Transferred to JC...built up confidence and explored new ways of mastering my disability. Transferred to a small private school...upward trend.
2) EXTREMELY ill father during later part of college up to now where I am one of the main caretakers
3) heart condition/heart surgery followed by post traumatic/op depression). currently overcoming health adversities...now training for marathons/triatholons

obviously, my PS will be about perserverance.

Good Luck to you too!

It seems like we applied to couple of the same schools! I wish you the best of luck. So far, I haven't heard anything yet... hopefully we shall soon. :)

Boalt
Friday, August 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

I'm an East Coast girl, so I didn't apply to Boalt because I figured the only way I would go to CA for law school is if I got into Stanford (long shot, I know, but here's hoping!). Good luck with the admissions cycle, you have amazing soft factors and I hope everything works out for you!

Thanks!

Hey Thanks. Good luck on your cycle as well. Lookin at your choices it seems as though the last thing you want to do is move from sunny Cali to the drab midwest- can't say that I blame ya! I'll be rootin for ya dude.

You too!
Wednesday, September 13 2006 at 08:00 PM

Cool man... Thanks for the good luck wishes. I will probably only go to a private school if I get some financial aid, or if it's ranked in the 20s. We have very similar numbers though. We also applied to a lot of the same schools, so I'll be watching your profile too. Good luck man!

Stay strong!
Thursday, January 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

Wow... looking at your soft factors kinda reminds me of my own situation. I think a lot of people don't realize that we have been through hell to get to where we are today. Looking back at all that has happened, I still don't know how I managed to survive. Keep up the good work. You deserve everything good that's coming your way!

Paranoid
Wednesday, November 15 2006 at 07:00 PM

I don't think you need to take down your stats, unless you're paranoid. I only took mine down because there is a possibility I've said something stupid here or on law school disucssion, and the numbers are really the only way to link a site user to an application. I'm paranoid. I'll put them up when it's all said and done. Good luck this cycle!

With your LSAT, there isn't too much to be paranoid about. Best of luck this cycle and congratulations on youur December score!

wow
Monday, October 02 2006 at 08:00 PM

What an increase on your LSAT score! You will have many acceptances on your list above. Gluck.

thanks
Sunday, January 07 2007 at 07:00 PM

thanks for the support.. we have similar numbers and hope you have great sucess with this cycle!

Good luck!
Friday, October 27 2006 at 08:00 PM

Good luck twin!

salamat!
Saturday, November 04 2006 at 07:00 PM

gluck to you too =]

USD
Thursday, October 19 2006 at 08:00 PM

oh yeah, you USD loves high lsats, you're definitely in. considering your predictions looks like it's a good choice youre sure about too. we applied to A LOT of the same schools. of course i wanted berk/usc/ucla but my lsat wouldn't cooperate. entertaining transferring but i heard it's an impossible feat. davis and hastings would be tempting for me over usd obvi bc they are better schools, but i know i want to practice in san diego so i have to think of that. what are your thoughts?

Good luck!
Friday, June 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

Sorry for the delayed response. No money from SCU yet, but hope springs eternal. Good luck to you.

you should...
Thursday, January 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

really consider UWisc. I think you're gonna be a shoo-in. With the rest of the schools, you should be fine. Your ec's, soft factors, and your lsat score should get you accepted to most, if not all of the schools you apply to. Stay strong bro!

Madison!
Wednesday, August 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

I think i'll like it there... Re: your lsat score, my friend's turned out similar. She applied to/went to gtown PT her first year, then full time. She works for a big firm in litigation in Chicago. I love DC!

Gtown
Wednesday, August 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

Last I looked they take the highest score! Good Luck.

UW...
Wednesday, August 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

i see you applied! GL. Madison seems to really look at soft factors.

Tuesday, August 15 2006 at 08:00 PM

GLUCK with this cycle! Thanks for the congrats!

Go 2.9 team!
Saturday, January 27 2007 at 07:00 PM

We belong to the 165/2.9 team. Gl!

Thank you
Friday, December 22 2006 at 07:00 PM

I'm sure you'll hear from them soon. It feels great getting that first one out of the way....kind of lets you know that it's all for real. And yes, huge LSAT jumps do indeed kick ass...probably wouldn't have gotten into USD without it!

decision date....
Friday, December 22 2006 at 07:00 PM

....is when I received it. The letter was dated a couple days prior, but I figured it would be more useful to know when it actually got here. Don't freak out too much....those cortisol levels will corrode your vessels and organs! The letter will come whether you go crazy waiting for it or not.....have some faith brotha!

No decisions?
Wednesday, July 12 2006 at 08:00 PM

REALLY?!

splitters ho!
Tuesday, January 30 2007 at 07:00 PM

Just sending a shout out to another late applicant splitter! Good luck!!!

miami
Sunday, December 17 2006 at 07:00 PM

Yeaaah!
Wednesday, July 12 2006 at 08:00 PM

Dude Fordham is a great school congrats!!

ahh!
Thursday, October 19 2006 at 08:00 PM

yeah on usd!! the $$ will come separate, don't worry you'll definitely get some! so what are you thinking right now? fordham over usd?

Yeah... I'm out of state
Wednesday, September 13 2006 at 08:00 PM

I feel like coming from Arizona puts me at a little bit of a disadvantage for the UC schools. Plus, I was at the low end for Davis. I'm sure you'll have better luck. That's pretty cool about the fee waiver from GT by the way.

congrats
Tuesday, November 29 2005 at 07:00 PM

nice job so far. good luck

congrats
Sunday, January 07 2007 at 07:00 PM

hastings
Tuesday, December 19 2006 at 07:00 PM

yeah, i really don't get it. it was my safety...

UCH
Tuesday, February 13 2007 at 07:00 PM

Yeah weird about hastings, oh well.

UIUC!!!
Wednesday, July 12 2006 at 08:00 PM

Hey Dude You got into Illinois!!!! YEAH!!!! And no kidding about UW. Eh, who needs 'em and their muther -Ucking rain right?! Seriously though... law school + dark dreary days and torrential downpours can't be good for the average law student's psyche... On second thought, that's an outright recipe for clinical depression! ;) Congrats man I'm really happy for you and how well things have been going. A sub 3 GPA is hard to pull off but you do it well.

Haha
Tuesday, August 15 2006 at 08:00 PM

Indeed they must be! :)

Yup
Sunday, February 11 2007 at 07:00 PM

Loyola and Santa Clara are slow about their decisions. They are among my top choices so I do care them but not as much as I do about Lewis and Clark. If I get in there then the rest of the schools can reject me for all I care. If I don't get in, then I care a lot about their pace. It would be nice to hear from them so that I could have options though. Thanks for your words on Davis. I never expected to get into my reaches so it was not a shock. I hope your cycle is at least somewhat satisfactory.

Saturday, November 04 2006 at 07:00 PM

thanks for looking out! i appreciate it... finally, an acceptance! still waiting on scu tho-- with all your acceptances so far, which school you hoping for?

Sunday, June 03 2007 at 08:00 PM

so what'd you decide on? i'm curious.
