Additional info & updates

02/27 Only a 161. Thought I did much better. Thinking about retaking in June if/once too many rejections come in.

03/28 Email acceptance from Toledo. Full ride sans $675 per semester. Not one of my premier choices but free is damn cheap. Anyone know anything about Toledo??

03/30 Packet from Gonzaga, $7,500 per year is nice but Gonzaga is expensive. Comments on Spokane are Welcome.

04/01 Small letter from Oregon. Straight up rejected. Oh well.

04/03 Packet from Creighton. Accepted with no mention of financial aid.

04/06 Called all schools still pending. In committee with all but Louisville, ON HOLD with them and will be reviewed in another 2 weeks. Just went complete at Denver. It took them over a month to request my LSDAS report. My brother went to undergrad there and it took them over a year to mail him his Diploma. They are slow.

04/08 Sent deposit to hold my spot at Toledo and formal withdrawls to Creighton and Gonzaga.

04/13 Received email from Akron, in with 2 options for scholarships, Full + $10k with 3.3 or just full with 2.5 1L & 2L and 3.3 3L. What now?

04/16 Went to parents house for easter, rejected at Wyo. Not very disappointed about this one. But I am rather suprised.

04/17 Ding from Miami; knew this one was coming as it appears that Miami had a sh*t ton of applicants this year and I was definately not a stand out candidate

04/22 Acceptance from Hofstra with $20k renewable with a 3.25

04/28 Rec'd email from Akron, #2 on scholarship waitlist. They are unsure if there will ever be any money to give me. Looks like I am going to be a Rocket unless Syracuse comes in with some good money.

05/03 What a day, finally received the XL Hofstra T-Shirt. and received a letter from Louisville stating that there entering class is full and I can stay on the waitlist if I want. No thanks Louisville I wanna go to lawschool this year.

05/04 Waitlisted at Denver.

05/09 Received a call from an Akron admin, off of the scholarship waitlist but... only a full ride, no stipend, and no more 2.5 to keep the full ride. Sorry Akron one day to decide is not enough time.

05/10 Rejected at Syracuse. Hmm...this one is more puzzling to me than the Wyo rejection. I thought there was a chance i could even get some money from them. Now my chances of being a Rocket are 99%.

Best of luck to you on Oregon! I've already sent half of my deposit to Willamette, so I'm probably not going to be changing my mind regardless of the UO decision. I think you'll do fine with your selection of schools. Best of luck! :)

I'm actually leaning towards Willamette; they offered me a lot of money, and the fact that Louisville has declined my request for in-state tuition despite the fact that i have been living in KY for the past 3 years has really left a bad taste in my mouth. Gonzaga is a bit too rich for my blood.

Gonzo marketing?

Is it just me or doing think some at Gonzaga admissions is trolling the boards attempting to butter us up?

I so agree, deadlines paired with so many alternate unknowns is really irksome. I wish I had got my act together and applied earlier in the cycle. But my spider senses are tingling...I have a good feeling about you, you'll do well wherever you end up.

Got the same offer today! What are you doing?

UND
Friday, September 16 2005 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for your comments about UND. I am a bit worried about the endless winter there, but the hope is that I won't have to go. Montana is my #1 choice, then Gonzaga. I appreciate your withdrawal from Gonzaga. :) What the hell is the deal with Wyoming rejecting you? I still have yet to hear back from them, but I don't really care what they say because I'd rather go to UND. So which will it be, Akron or Toledo?? Nice job on all the money.

Akron $

I called the next day 4/14 and paid the seat deposit. She told me that I had gotten the money. I faxed the form with my option marked today. I'll call tomorrow to check on it all.

am i going to the toledo function?
Saturday, September 17 2005 at 08:00 PM

most likely no. i'm kind of strapped for cash. plus i'm 100% sure that i will be living downtown at the hillcrest. they provide garaged parking so my car (i'll be buying once i move to toledo) will be protected. i see you are from colorado. is it your goal to transfer home after 1L? let me know what you think if you are going to the meet and greet. see you in the fall.

re: no cash and yet buying a car.
Saturday, September 17 2005 at 08:00 PM

yeah, i know it sounds strange. my plan is to use some of my living expense money to buy a cheap used car. i'm budgeting @ 3k for it. nothing fancy, maybe a 96 civic/corolla.
