Not a good undergraduate GPA though which I am hoping time will help mitigate.

Additional info & updates

I hope my experiences can help others. I am retaking the LSAT on Saturday. Wish me luck. I will be adding more schools as I finalize those applications.

29 Dec 05 - I got a 159 on my new LSAT. I had hoped to score in the 160s. We'll see if it significantly changes any of my chances at all though.

4 Jan 06 - I'm complete at most schools now. I am considering a few more applications though. Any suggestions from the peanut gallery? :)

6 Jan 06 - The wait is a kiler. I check my e-mail 10 times a day hoping for some word and pester my wife about the mail constantly. :)

18 Jan 06 - Waitlist notice came today in a standard envelope. I am a little surprised. My numbers are very competitive with my last LSAT above their 75th percentile. Maybe it was the undergrad GPA that scared them? Maybe I played on my interest in IP law a bit strongly given they do not have a program in that area?

22 Jan 06 - Completed my Suffolk Application tonight.

30 Jan 06 - Ohio State sent me a scholarship application in the mail today. I thought it was an acceptance since it was in a large white envelope and fairly thick. The agony continues though. :-)

7 Feb 06 - Rejected at Cincinnati. I am not really surprised, but still disappointed. :-(

7 Feb 06 - The hits just keep on coming. Hidden inside some ads was a rejection letter from American. I have to admit that I feel fairly discouraged.

8 Feb 06 - Suffolk acceptance came today. I was surprised by the speed. Slightly thicker white envelope.

16 Feb 06 - Went decision on OSU's app. status checker. Unfortunately I am expecting a ding.

22 Feb 06 - Got a very nice e-mail from admissions at Pitt indicating I had been waitlisted, but they were still very interested. I hope that works out in my favor although they indicate only 10%-25% of people get off the wait list.

25 Feb 06 - My OSU rejection came in a standard, thin envelope. It wasn't unexpected though as they appear to demand very high GPAs.

28 Feb 06 - I got my acceptance from UConn today and my rejection from GMU. I kind of expected thr rejection from GMU because my numbers were a bit low for them. I am excited about my UConn acceptance though.

3 March 06 - This may sound foolish, but I am pleased by my waitlist at Maryland. With my low GPA, I feel like it is an accomplishment. It came in a large white envelope.

26 Mar 06 - I sent my application to Cleveland-Marshall.

3 Apr 06 - Got my rejection notice from WUSTL. Not sure why I was suckered into sending my money there in the first place. :)

24 Apr 06 - Got an acceptance letter from CSU last night. It was fairly thick and included a $4K scholarship renewable with a 3.1. I am very flattered by that given how late I applied and scholarships for part-timers seem rare.

25 Apr 06 - My wife said Maryland left a message on our machine saying they had good news for me and I would be getting a letter soon. Yay!

10 May 06 - I got selected off of Pitts wait list today. This complicates the decision even more. :) Thanks to everyone for the kind words and posts.

The LSAT did not go well. I'm debating canceling and trying in Feb. again. I hate to do that because I know many of slots will be filled by the time the scores get reported.

My first LSAT score was a 156. The second one in December was the 159. The games kill me and I would easily have been mid-160s if I could have mastered them. I got a call from the school. The Case staff has been very nice.

...I did the same and I have noticed that some schools will accept the higher score with an addendum. Two schools that come to mind are UofMN and IUPUI. Good luck with the rest of your aps, no matter what happens with the rest of them you know you have a solid acceptance with Case. v/r

Yes, the UConn campus is very nice. I visited there about 3 weeks ago. You have some great acceptances there yourself, Lost. Grats.

Good luck Noel

Maryland

Congratulations on Maryland. Will you be attending there in the fall?

re: no idea!

I chose Maryland for a number of reasons. I liked their low faculty to student ratio, their top rating in clinical programs, in-state tuition, great business and health law programs, and strong judicial clerk placement. My visit there was also the most welcoming and comfortable of all my law school visits, and, truth be told, the law building was pretty awesome. That is my perspective and I hope it helps some.

That's great. Have a good trip and let me know what you thought about your visit to the law school.
