---- So I got waitlisted by W&L via snail mail. It's bitter-sweet, really. I feel honored that a school like W&L would even consider me into their tiny entering class of 125. OTOH, I understand that everybody and their mother got wait listed at W&L, so I am not too optimistic that I will actually get off it, but I will hold onto that belief as long as I can.
P.S. thanks missv463 for the kind wishes!
----Rejected at Northeastern Saturday, March 21st, 2009
I got rejected at northeastern today and couldn't care less. Frankly, I don't even know why I applied there.
-----"Black Monday" Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Today was bitter-sweet: First and foremost, I got rejected at W&M. I won't lie, it was painful to read the letter. I know that my numbers were waaaaaay below the W&M median but I thought I may have at least snagged a WL... but it was not meant to be.
On a semi-good note, I got WL at American. I was expecting an acceptance but I will take the WL. I have a strong interest in International Law and I can't do much better than AU for that. Plus, their dual-degree program in 3.5 yrs interests me quite a bit. If I end up off the wait list I will most certainly do that. Ok, still waiting on 10 schools...
----My First Acceptance!!! Tuesday, April 7th, 2009
Iowa showed me some Hawkeye love today! I am pretty happy with being admitted there. They have a great International law program. Kinda in the middle of nowhere but it seems like a great place to raise my two kids.
-----Thursday, April 9, 2009: Rejected at OSU
SUCKS!!!! This was one of my "dream schools."
-----Friday, April 10, 2009: Rejected at U Wisconsin.
This was a really strange rejection because UW sent me a dean's letter basically begging me to apply. I was kinda getting used to the idea of UW and was waiting on the acceptance letter to come through the mail, but I instead got an email saying I was rejected. Not even wait listed? WTH??? Whatever, I still have U Iowa which is higher ranked and costs less to attend with in-state tuition for 2L and 3L, along with dirt cheap health insurance if I pick up the supposedly easy-to-get RA gig. This makes UW-M look terribly uncompetitive, but I still want an answer as to why UW made me believe that I could get in to their school. I WANT MY $56 APPLICATION FEE BACK!!!
---- In other news, I got ACCEPTED to U CONN !!! Awesome.
This makes the decision really tough because it's so close to home, but I think it would be stupid to pass up Iowa.
---- Wow, haven't updated in a while.... LOTS OF REJECTIONS!
Firstly, BU and BC rejected my ass. I am not at all surprised though. Boston area schools have no shortage of local diverse applicants and so their main priority is numbers.
----I got a call from UNC today... Wait listed, but I'll take it.
Chapel HIll is awesome, but I understand they have 600 people on the wait list so I am not holding my breath.
----Rejection from Vandy. Fully expected. This to me was one of those "I'll kick myself if I never apply" types of things.
----Also still waiting on IU Bloomington. THey sent me a special fee waiver and a letter complimenting my GPA. Huh? I like IUB's 1st year "teams" that are guided by 2L/3L. It may make things easier and less frustrating.
----Still waiting to hear from Case. I think it's a respectable school and I would gladly attend with a full ride. Not sure that's going to happen though. They're taking their sweet time.
----May 2nd, 2009: I got rejected from American's Intl affairs SIS program. Due to this, I have lost all interest in American as I was considering it only for a dual-degree. I am withdrawing from the WL.
----May 4th: Got a small envelope from Case Western... ACCEPTED! WOOHOO!!!!!!!! Man, I am so happy. They sent along a travel voucher. I know they are only ranked #55 but I would take CWRU over UCONN any day of the week. Solid school, excellent name recognition as a university, etc. I dunno why, but I've always had a strange attraction to Case. If I had to pick blindly right now, I would have to pick Iowa, but who knows, things may change after I visit Case.
--May 15th 2009:
Rejection letter from IU-B. It basically said how I was a good student and they are sorry they had to turn me down but that they received some really, really good apps this year and don't have any more room in their class. Oh well, at least I got a fee waiver from them so that helped soften the blow.
good luck with the rest of your cycle!
