***Update***

I had the honor of taking a trip with a couple US Senators to a foreign nation where I was introduced to and spent a significant amount of time (about 6 hours) with a foreign head of state. Before the trip the senator told me what the topics of conversation would be and told me to "be prepared." During the day I was able to participate a great deal in the conversation and debate. Often times the senator asked me to give my opinion of the matter to the president. It was an incredible experience. The president told me after the day had ended that if he is still in office when my schooling is complete that he would be extremely interested in hiring me as an advisor.

The experience was overwhelming. I wrote a secondary personal statement and sent it to all the schools as an additional document. I hope that it helps with some of the scholarship!!!

Additional info & updates

3 LOR... One from 20+ year memeber of the US Senate who I know very well.

Personal statement is on parents passing and the adoption process that followed

I have recieved various fee waivers through snail mail and e-mail

Sent recieved and complete dates are approximate

Interviewed at Northwestern, I think it went well. The interviewer did say that the Senator's LOR was one of the best he's read in the past 5 years. good things, very good things!!!!!

In at UT, Duke and Georgetown, pretty good start!!!

First time I have been online in a while... Got a call from Harvard (Toby Stock) and I thought the conversation went very well. I found an acceptance letter a couple of days later plus a follow up call saying "congratulations" and "I think you will find Harvard is the right choice for you."

In at UCLA, Michigan, Vanderbilt, Cal, Washington-St Louis

I really would love to know if there is any scholarship money on top of any of these acceptances. I guess I will have to wait...

I haven't updated this page in months so now that I am sitting in an airport on a four hour layover I might as well make good use of my time.

Overall I have had a incredible cycle. I have gotten tons of offers from outstanding schools. I don't know where I will be attending, but I have some ideas. :)

Since I don't have the dates I received the decision letters/e-mails all the dates are approximate.

BTW I thought the waitlist by Tulane was kind of funny. I only applied there because my uncle went there and wanted me to apply. They came around eventually! :)

Ok now I added all the scholarship amounts... Sorry it took so long, I was tired after the flight.

Thank you very much, I was happy Duke came back so fast, I haven't visited UT and Georgetown is the political mecca of the US so it's nice to know that is an option!!!

Wow, you are going to have one tough decision as to where to attend law school! Congratulations. I'm really impressed at your fluency in all those languages. Do you have a system for learning them? Great work.

Wow!

Thanks to everyone for the posts. Jane, After I sent in the the additional information on my trip with the senator and the day with the president, I recieved a letter shortly thereafter stating that I had been accepted. I can only assume that it made a good impression on the admissions committee. Good luck to you with your decision, I hope you get into Penn!!!!

coverage

The WL response by Tulane is called \"coverage.\" They knew you were going to a higher-ranked school, so they reduce their own necessity to report the data about students who reject them, thus keeping up their students-who-accept-them stats. Law School Games. :)
