ADDITIONAL INFO & UPDATES

I had no idea what my chances were like, so I applied to a whole bunch of schools . Thankfully, I had fee waivers for most of them. But my cycle so far is a testament that anything is possible when you're walking in God's favor.

Scholarship amounts are 3 year totals.

2/10- JR1!!! Definitely wasn't expecting to get it. Shortest and most awkward interview of life. I hope I didn't completely botch it

2/25- Waitlisted at Penn :( Will withdraw
But on the bright side, I'm finally complete at Yale!

2/28- Finally got my package from BU via snail mail. Personal note from the dean on my letter that referenced my PS. $45,000 scholarship. Wish it was a little more though

3/2- In at Georgetown via email!!!!!! Pleasant surprise this morning. I was expecting to get at most an interview because my numbers make me borderline and I was a little nervous because I didn't know when that would happen. My status checker has been saying Application Complete since mid-January, although somewhere in mid-February the current status date changed. Not once did I get the Under Review status and now it's not showing the Decision Rendered status. But I'm glad I'm in! Can't wait to get my package in the mail!

I also got the email for Merit Scholarship Consideration...very excited about that

Finally withdrew from Penn. Hopefully someone who actually wants to go there gets my wait list spot...

3/3- Got my acceptance letter from Georgetown today! It came in such a tiny little envelope that I would've been scared if I didn't already know I was admitted. Nice personal note from Dean Cornblatt on the letter that made my day

3/4- In at Howard with a $30,000 scholly for the first year! Feels good to get some HBCU love :-D

3/7- JR2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enough said

3/8- Email from Georgetown about merit scholarship! $30,000/yr. Nice, but not enough to entice me not to go to Harvard ;-)
In other news...my Harvard Status Checker finally says Admitted!

3/11- My package from HLS arrived today!! JR wrote a little note on my letter that referenced something I said in my JR1, which was really cool. Also, I finally got my admissions package from Georgetown today and a financial aid award from NYU: $37,500.

3/17- Finally started withdrawing

Man am I jealous of some of the schools that you got accepted into. We have the same lsat score so i'm gonna pray that i can get into my top schools. Congrats again on your awesome cycle so far. What schools are your top picks?

You have good numbers, but not Harvard numbers. Don't you feel guilty for taking the spot from someone who is smarter and worked significantly harder than you? 161 at Harvard? Does it comfort you to know that you need at 17 point handicap to be on par with your superiors? Way to play the race card.

I feel rage bubbling up inside of me, but I will try my best not to be snappy. First of all, law school admissions do not depend solely on numbers. You have NO IDEA what I have accomplished and you're judging me based on the glimpse of myself that I have chosen to give you on LSN. Don't be stupid and narrow-minded. I presented myself well to the adcomm, and they chose me because they liked what they saw. Second of all, higher LSAT score does not equal higher intelligence and harder work. Again, you have NO IDEA what I was dealing with when I took the LSAT. It sounds like you didn't get into Harvard, and that doesn't surprise me at all because you apparently have really poor deductive skills. I feel no guilt for having been admitted to Harvard. Thanks for posting anonymously. Way to be a coward.

It's real convenient to just delete every post you don't like. But we all know you haven't earned your positions. And that's a disgrace you will always carry with you. Every time you tell someone you got into Harvard you will notice the skeptical look people will initially give you and you will try to steer the conversation away from what your scores were. Disgraceful.

Man white people can be bitter. (I realize that two wrongs don't make a right, but I don't care in this instance). Also, please notice that she has a perfect GPA. Jeez folks. Congrats! Keep up the good work.

I was going to just let the blatant racism slide but its just shocking how prevalent ignorance still is today, walkinginfavor don't let the haters get you down you earned it, they are just made bc their ignorant behinds couldn't get it. P.S. Love the name, it shows the LSN world where your real priorities lie, and our secret...who needs law school predictors when you have God on your side....Romans 8:31

I don't think it's EVER a disgrace to attend Harvard under ANY circumstances. Great things are in store for you. Congrats! This kid has been commented on many URM profiles trying to spread his hate, racism, and jealousy. It's disappointing, but not at all surprising. While he's having a tantrum, just keep moving on to bigger and better things.

Great cycle!!! I too am a URM, with just as high GPA. When did you send your application materials in? What school do you currently attend? Thanks

Congrats Congrats on getting into Harvard. So is that where you are going to be in the fall or are you still waiting on yale, u of m, and chicago? I haven't had a terrible cycle so far but it would be phenomenal if i could get into NYU. That is my top choice, but I know its quite a bit of a reach for me.

It is obvious from your other acceptances that getting into Harvard was no accident.

Hope I see you at ASW. You had a great cycle so far. That is insane money from UVA. Can you really turn it down for 150+ debt from Harvard or Yale? I'm waiting on Yale as well but I'm about 90% sure I'm going to Harvard the personalized touch on the note was great.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! Second, I cannot respond to your "anonymous" friend directly, so I will post it here and hope he sees it. This person obviously has a damn good reason that Harvard would overlook a relatively low LSAT, and it is none of your business what that reason is. Moreover, the "race card" has power with good reason. I am NOT a URM, I am simply someone who studies structural violence for my masters thesis. Structural violence is alive and well in the most insidious means, and it affects mostly URMs in this country. This is one tiny area, where this country is trying to even the playing field - it's still not even and it cannot undo years of trauma. You have lived an incredibly privileged life just by not being a URM in many ways, and that privileged life might have given you your 17 point lead.

On an impressive cycle. So what school will you be attending in the fall?

Of course you don't feel guilty, selfish people don't have that ability. The only racists here are the school admissions boards. Perhaps one day when your old you will feel guilt for taking something that you didn't earn.
