at this moment southwestern looks good for me cuz the rest are probably rejections or waitlists (if i'm lucky). The lsat ruined my life.. what if i had gotten 5 or 6 more questions right on the reading comp?? i would have been in at loyola easily! good luck on the rest of ur apps, maybe I'll see u at southwestern in the fall :)

Yea, it said a decision has been made on XX-XX-2006. I felt almost certain that I had an acceptance with it being so early in the cycle and with my #s not being too shoddy, but nope. Bests with your chances there.

Loyola

My on line status states that a decision has been made. I didn't know that until I check it now. I wish it had been another decision. It is weird that I am the only one on here waitlisted. Hell, I hope I get in. However, don't discount Southwestern. My brother is a first year evening and loves it. Being from Los Angeles, I know plenty of successful lawyers and most of them went to Southwestern. It's not on a university campus, but it's really a class place. By the way, Loyola is quite close to Southestern, even in a worse neighborhool and is not on the Loyola Marymount campus. It's in downtown L.A. while the main campus is about 15 miles away overlooking the ocean. If we don't get in to Loyola, perhaps we'll meet at Southwestern. I have had some family issues and I don't know if I'm going to leave L.A. Miami is hard to turn down. USF is a nice place. How in the hell did I get waitlisted at Loyola and George Mason. By the numbers, I should have been rejected at bothl

Loyola offer
Sunday, September 18 2005 at 08:00 PM

The waitlist offer was for full time, but had a box to check if I wished to consider the PT program. I elected part time to increase my chances, but no offer was made. In fact I got an email telling me that there's little chance to swtch from PT to FT before the first year begins. However, after the first year there is a big enough atrition that a switch could be made depending on performance. I did not want them to think I as trying to back door an admission, but truthfully I'd go thre either way. Interstingly, last year, Southwestern offered my borther either and he took evening and loves it. However, he is nocturnal. Hope to see you at any of them.

Seattle > Loyola?
Sunday, October 23 2005 at 08:00 PM

I have a couple of reasons why I prefer Seattle over Loyola and they all boil down to personal preference. One of the biggest factors is that I don't like L.A. and would prefer not to live there. On the other hand I love Seattle and could see myself living there for a long time. Secondly, money. Tuition at Loyola is $31k and Seattle is $25k. Loyola probably won't offer a scholarship, and I think that Seattle U will. Plus cost of living is higher in L.A. than in Seattle. Loyola would have to give me a serious scholarship to make up for the fact that I'd have to live in L.A. and to make it worth abandoning decent schools like U of O and USD where I would be happier living. Also, I read a review on Lawschooldiscussion.org that said Loyola was in a really bad neighborhood, and I would rather not deal with that if I don't have to. What school are you leaning toward?

I applied full time initially but I might send back in my letter asking to be considered for both the day and evening programs but I think that is an automatic part-time gaurantee...at least I think so! Best of luck to you!

the comment was written BEFORE i got on the Loyola waitlist...i was pending at st johns and loyola and decided to wait to see what they said even though i am pretty much decided on stetson and regardless...if i want to stay on a wailist to keep my options open...it is my prerogative.
