Additional info & updates

~*~Ive decided to attend HLS, so I look forward to seeing some of you in the fall!!!!!~*~

- LSDAS GPA went up to 4.10 by mid-January, but most of the acceptances came before then. (I realize that this probably doesn't matter in the slightest, but I want to be as accurate as possible.)

- Merit scholarship $$$ listed is for all 3 years.

- Northwestern's offer is deferred admission (entering in 2009) with a $45,000/year scholarship. Very tempting!

- George Washington's Presidential Merit Scholarship (at least for people who didn't apply for it ED) is $20,000 per year. To keep it for the second and third years, you have to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. Free housing for the first year is included. This completely knocks them out of the running, so I'll withdraw right away. I dropped by to check out GW while I was in D.C. for Georgetown's Jan. admitted students weekend and wasn't very impressed, so I can't say I'm too disappointed about this.

- It looks like I'm the first person to post on LSN about Cornell's Dean's Scholarship, so just in case anyone's curious, it's $35,000/year just as the original invitation to apply stated. No tacky GPA requirements mentioned, unlike SOME schools.

- Virginia: Dean's Scholarship; letter indicates that this usually includes at least half tuition (hence my estimate of $60,000), but the exact amount hasn't been fixed yet. UPDATE: the actual amount is in, and it's $24,000/year.

- Penn: James Wilson Scholarship

- Michigan: Dean's Scholar

- Duke: $60,000 scholarship with another $5,000 for the summer term (I applied for a joint JD/MA).

- Georgetown: $25,000 per year, with the potential for need-based grants to be added in addition to this amount (if I qualify for more than $25,000/year in need-based grants, that is).

- Schools w/no $$$ listed: Columbia didn't offer any, & I withdrew from Vandy before they sent out scholarship offers.

- Yale: Rejection by snail mail, 4/11. I applied at the absolute last minute (11:55 P.M. on Feb. 15), so they're definitely getting around to deciding on the last few applicants now.

- Dates: I'm filling in the ones I can recall. The Cornell acceptance came in late December, but I don't remember the exact date. Georgetown was, I think, my second acceptance (after Duke).
