Additional info & updates

The huge dent in my application is obviously the LSAT. I spent about a year and a half doing self studies, as well as taking a class. For some reason, it never clicked. Nevertheless, I'm still applying to law school just to see where I'll be. If I dislike my options (highly likely), I'll just retake. I want to see if schools take a look at the whole candidate and not just the numbers.

Update 2/1/2018

So, it seems like my cycle had some success! I chose to apply to these schools based on location, employment, and talks with alumni. Granted, not all of these schools have those three factors, but the amount of scholarship provided by some make it a really enticing option, especially with having no interest in Biglaw. I still have to wait a few weeks to see what my last two options say to make a decision. I'll keep you all posted!

Update 4/17/2018

I was pretty pleased with the way my cycle turned out. In the end, it came down to Cincinnati and Chicago-Kent. I visited Chicago-Kent and was blown away by its facilities, faculty, and student body. Cinci, on the other hand, was the more "cost-effective" option. Because of my goals and desired location, I chose Chicago-Kent. I'll try and keep everyone updated as I move through the crazy journey we all know as "law school".
