Additional info & updates

WL @ SIUC. Fat regular sized envelope, so of course I get excited awaiting my first acceptance. Nada. A comforting note inside claimed last year no one was accepted off the wait list but in 2001, everyone was. I gotta think this doesn't bode well.

Accepted at Widener, no money but when I get accepted elsewhere I'll try to leverage 'em. Large white envelope full of mostly apartment and dorm brochures.

Hmm... maybe I misunderstood what was meant by recieved. That's the date my complete LSAC report was sent to SU. They had requested it on 1/11. I have yet to recieve any kind of notification from them one way or another. No snail mail everything was sent through LSAC.

FYI, you can also check the status of your app on their website somewhere. Apparently it's only updated once a week or so.

No, just a form letter rejection. Same old song and dance, "we've recieved an abundance of qualified applicants but we have only a limited number of seats..." I guess it's the GPA though I did send an addendum to explain it.

No crimial record or anything like that. I wrote a very opinionated PS about how I wanted to go into public service. It could have rubbed someone wrong I suppose because I mentioned how a friend of mind was denied medical benefits because he was gay and had AIDS. I was more surprised by the WL at SIUC, they take the higher LSAT and I'm a few points above their 75th. Still nothing about this process surprises me anymore.

Hey, how long was it between the time you got the letter re: WL from UMKC until you get a letter of rejection? I just got WL there...
