Extra Curricular Information

Too many to list. I mean really. I was a NERD.

Editor of the college newspaper and a volunteer paper, rough equivalent of Student Body President, search committees, task forces, advisory boards, tons of committee work, hall advisor, tour guide, you name it.

A pretty solid amount of non-profit work after college. (And a lot of waiting tables.)

Additional info & updates

My undergrad did full written evaluations, but I had a GPA translation done. I got almost all As, a few Bs and a C in Calculus, which I didn't even have to take. Why did I take Calculus?

The 3.61 LSDAS GPA is based on four classes during my study abroad semester. The 3.7 takes them into account, along with all my other classes.

I'm the first in my family to graduate college.

No, I don't really think I'm going to get into Harvard.

Um, I got an award from a foreign government when I was 16. That was pretty cool.

I was also suspended twice in high school. It doesn't seem to matter much though, b/c the two schools I'm accepted at right now are two of the three I had to tell about it.

1. For digging toilets with Amigos de las Americas. They send a few thousand kids to various countries in Latin America for different service projects every summer. The Paraguayan Department of Health and Social Welfare (I think that's the translation..) just decided to give us awards. A kid I used to know swore it was what got him into Duke. 2. Duh. Sorry about the double post. (And the typo.)

Based on the last few posts to my account, I'm starting to think you have an unhealthy sexual obsession with Georgetown.

I went to Oberlin's crazy dirt poor sister: Antioch. I've met some great people who went to Oberlin, though. I went to Antioch for the (soon to be defunct) co-op program. I'm currently in AZ, but I put OH b/c it seemed like it was asking where I went to school...who knows?

Congrats on Fordham!

Thanks for the information. I heard about being waitlisted a while back already, and just forgot to update. To be honest, I can't quite see myself there, so I didn't send back the form. Maybe that was evident in my app, who knows? At any rate, it's a great school - congratulations again!
