Congrats! I am hopeful about American although the cost is hard to wrap my head around. Did they send your acceptance via email?
I think that you do what you have to do. You probably had a reason for applying late. I did too :). You've already got into American which is awesome! Wait and see what happens and I personally think since a lot of people apply later it doesn't necessarily mean you are sunk. Good luck!
