I panicked because I hadn't heard from Stetson, which was the only place I had any real intention of attending, so I applied to 4 other schools. Two days later, I received my acceptance from Stetson. Now I feel like I should wait to see if I get into UF or FSU, even though it's a long shot. Why did I complicate things?!
According to status checker, I am still "under review" at Barry and FIU, "file reviewed, no decision reached" at UF and "application complete" at FSU as of 1/4/11.
Status checker at FIU changed to "decision rendered letter mailed" on 1/7/11. Still no letter as of 1/13/11. (!)
Acceptance via status checker at Barry 1/13/11.
Withdrew my application from Barry after a visit. The amount listed for the scholarship offer was the total, at $19,000 per year.
Got a rejection letter from FIU! I have to say I'm a little surprised, not to mention wounded, but since I was not planning on going there anyway, I am finally over it.
My status changed to "under review" at FSU on 2/22/11. Still no change at UF, my status remains "file reviewed, no decision reached."
My status at UF changed to a maddening "letter issued (5-10 days for receipt)" as of 2/25/11. FSU's status checker was even more infuriating, with my status changed as of 2/25/11 to "hold," accompanied by the following caveat: "Thank you for your interest in and application to the Florida State University College of Law. This year's application pool is highly competitive. At this time, your application has received an initial review and it is being placed in our HOLD category. The admissions committee wants to continue to consider your application in the future. Please note that our HOLD category is NOT our waitlist. Our application deadline is May 1, 2011. Your file may be reviewed multiple times before or after this deadline for a final decision regarding your application to the law school. All decisions will be made by May 31, 2011." This means that if, by some act of God, I am accepted, it will probably be after I have already paid Stetson a $500 seat deposit to hold my spot and repeatedly ensured my employer I will not be leaving town to go to school. Boo! Not a good day in the status-checker department, although I suppose I should quit whining and be glad the madness is coming to an end one way or another. :)
Finally got my rejection letter from UF on 3/2/11.
My status changed to waitlisted at FSU on 4/25/11. I have to submit a letter of intent and they may not accept/reject me until as late as 8/25/11. Classes start at FSU on 8/29/11 and 8/22/11 at Stetson. I am putting a deadline of 6/30/11 on my letter of intent to FSU so I have finality by July. I sent my seat deposit to Stetson, so that's pretty much it for me unless I just get lucky.
