Extra Curricular Information

Run-of-the mill ECs: college athlete, sorority officer, campus political group officer, etc...

I transferred to my current school from a small WI state school after sophomore year.

My GPA is in the toilet because of some "exceptional circumstances" from junior year.

I'm about 99% sold on St. Thomas right now after the scholarship offer.

Additional info & updates

Complete dates for Valpo, St. Thomas, DePaul, and SLU are estimates - I called on 4/11 and found out I was in committee at all of those places, so obviously I'm complete.

I've been having problems with a letter of rec, which REALLY SUCKS and is annoying.

George Mason rejection came in a small envelope, as did the Wisconsin one.

4/14: Ave Maria responded to my email and told me I was complete.

4/15: Emailed American, a decision has been made and is in the mail. Pretty much expecting a rejection since they were a reach school.

4/15: DePaul waitlist in small thick envelope

4/16: St. Thomas acceptance and $$$$$$$$$$ in a medium cream envelope

4/21: St. Louis waitlist

4/22: Valpo rejection. Either this is yield protection or they're way more antipapist than I thought.

4/23: American rejection.

4/28: Ave Maria acceptance with 15k/year.

5/20: St. Louis called and offered me a spot, but she made the financial aid situation sound not so great - I'll wait and see what's up when I get my official letter.

5/27: WHO ACCEPTS PEOPLE THIS LATE? WTF, guys?

6/24: This is the admissions cycle that never ends...Ave Maria increased my scholarship to a full-ride (still no) and Marquette, which is my alma mater, just waitlisted me. Okay guys, because somebody really is going to get in this late. Also, I think UConn should give me my money back and I just might pursue this.

It's going to be a long process, but I'm pulling for ya. Keep your head up and don't let anyone tell you that you don't deserve a chance. Best of Luck!

My real ave is a 161...I did something stupid and posted a link on xoxo so that other people could edit my account. I am not always the brightest cookie in the jar, but hey, my GPA shows that. ;)

I have NO idea how to reply to people on here (I suck!) but I got a full ride to UST for three years. I am really excited about it and after the Wisconsin rejection I really needed it. I'm withdrawing from the DePaul waitlist today (4/18) but I'd like to wait and see where else I get in just to know. I'm planning on withdrawing immediately after I get accepted anywhere else though.

I was at the open house today and it didn't really sell me farther on the school - wasn't bad, wasn't great. Were you there?

Yep, I was there. I almost fell asleep a few times. Wasn't as great as I had hoped, but it looks like I'll be going there anyways. I thought the building was great, staff seemed to lack some enthusiam. The alumni speaker irritated me. I guess I can always transfer in a year.

I didn't think it was that exciting either - I went with a friend and we snuck out and went shopping for a little bit. I think the school just doesn't know how to market itself yet.

Can you tell me a little more of your thoughts surrounding the admitted student event? I plan on attending in the fall, but couldn't get out of Idaho for the event.

Well, you and my husband have the same SLU index number so this gives me more hope. Did you send anything "extra" with your application when you first applied?
