So obviously my cycle sucked. I'm trying to figure out if this is due to my application being insufficient in some regard( bad PS or letters etc.) or a mixture of yield protection and late applications.

Your late app is what killed your cycle. End of January is just tough. Wait a year and reapply. It'll be worth it.
Random question. How fast did you hear about your scholarship after being accepted into UT? I just got my admissions packet with no mention of aid and was wondering if that meant I'm not getting any from them. Thanks
