5/24/2011 - The cycle is over. I am very relieved to say that I couldn't be happier. I found out via phone call on May 12th that I was accepted off the wait list at NYU. I applied early decision to NYU all the way back in November, so it really was a wonderful surprise.

For those of you who are interested: NYU is my undergraduate alma mater, which may have helped tip the scales. In my initial application I added a "Why NYU?" addendum even though I was applying early decision. After I was deferred to the regular applicant pool in December, I sent an additional letter of recommendation and my Fall grades, but I did not send a letter of continuing interest. I sent no additional materials for the wait list.

2/20/11 - Accepted to Duke via email!

2/18/11 - Held at Harvard.

2/15/11 - Accepted to Cornell via email!

2/10/11 - Accepted to University of Chicago! Missed the call and got a vague anxiety-inducing voicemail... but got the email a few minutes later!

2/06/11 - Offered $15,000 a year at Michigan.

1/31/11 - Offered $25,000 a year at Fordham.

1/27/11 - Accepted to Fordham via email!

1/25/11 - Accepted to Michigan via large unexpected package! I wasn't able to sign into the admitted students website as of last Friday so this was certainly surprising :)

1/21/11 - Waitlisted at Penn via email. I'll send along an additional letter of recommendation and a LOCI.

1/16/11 - Received the acceptance letter from Georgetown and the admissions packet from GW. Offered $30,000 a year at GW with a 3.0 minimum requirement and free first year housing or a housing stipend.

1/13/11 - Under review at Cornell.

1/11/11 - Got a 4.0 this past semester. Sending an updated transcript to schools and an additional faculty letter of recommendation to Cornell and NYU.

1/10/11 - Under committee review at UPenn.

Also, my status checker at Georgetown updated to "Complete" for the fourth time today, and I was able to request a username and password to the Admitted Students Website. Pretty sure this means I'm in at Georgetown!

1/07/11 - Under review at UChicago.

1/06/11 - Accepted to GW via email!

1/05/11 - Accepted to Cardozo via phone call with a full tuition scholarship!

12/21/10 - Deferred to regular applicant pool at NYU via letter.

12/20/10 - Under review at Duke.

12/16/10 - Under review at Fordham.

12/15/10 - Under review at Michigan.

12/13/10 - Under review at Georgetown.

12/08/10 - Under review at Harvard.

11/22/10 - Under review at NYU.

11/19/10 - Under review at Cardozo.

11/17/10 - All of my recs have been received by LSAC. Sent NYU, Cardozo, Temple, and Michigan. Need to finish a few more essays before I can send the rest.

11/01/10 - Sent my Cornell EA application. My transcript finally arrived and processed with LSAC so now I'm waiting for the letters of recommendation and my report will be complete.
